Last time I ported out from RP. It took me 7 days and chat with them multiple times. I told myself that I will never ever go back to RP. But other people might have different experiences.

Edit: it was 4 months ago

when buying a plan, you have to select one of the available networks for that plan. Based on your network/carrier selection, a SIM card will be mailed to you.

I had the same problem, and haven't gone back since. That was maybe 3 years ago.

While that's generally correct - Red Pocket does indeed operate on all three networks and customers get to pick the network they want - this particular deal is restricted to GSMA only.
GSMA = AT&T

Click-through the link in the OP and then select the 5GB/mo 360-day $162 plan. It's GSMA only

Note: Other plans are also discounted.
10GB/mo 360-day $216 ($18/mo) GSMA-only
25GB/mo 360-day $324 ($27/mo) GSMA-only

If you want GSMT (T-Mobile) or CDMA (Verizon) I would recommend getting a plan and SIM from their eBay store (https://www.ebay.com/str/redpocketstore)

3GB/mo 360-day $180 ($15/mo)
8GB/mo 360-day $240 ($20/mo)
20GB/mo 360-day $360 ($30/mo)

Admittedly, the GSMA online pricing is better than these, but if you do not want or cannot use AT&T, preferring T-Mobile or Verizon instead, these are your options. You *may* be able to contact RP Customer Service and get a non-discounted 10GB or 25GB plan from the website to get GSMT/CDMA service, but that's 100% YMMV.

Good luck!

This RedPocket deal is with the Att plan only. You can choose any of the three carriers on their regular priced plans. Don't believe me ? check the links.

That is the question everybody that thinks on going to RedPocket must ask. Last year I was calling CS at least once a month after they were disconnecting my "service", that is on a prepaid annual plan. I lost count of the dozens of hours spent waiting for them to correct their errors and they would seem to do it as a courtesy. Before I ended my annual plan, I ported and run like the plague!

RP's CS took a hit a year ago because of the ATT 3G shutdown and GSMA service got snarled up. It's back to normal now, it's fine. Fixed a simple problem in January with very short wait. Not saying you will get all your problems solved, e.g., wonky billing issues - a running problem for some accounts, but I've never had wait time issues. (I didn't get snagged in the ATT debacle even though I have 2 GSMA accounts.)

I'm more concerned about creeping plan prices, dearth of deals for ebay annual plans, elimination of high data plans.

Had rp for a few years with a few lines. I actually miss them. The only problem I had was att had horrible service in one location for me. That was a deal breaker.
