Walmart only ships to me via FedEx. My FedEx driver already drives up to my garage door almost hitting it each time to only chuck my boxes at the garage. Bought some mason jars from Walmart recently and they miraculously survived. Can only imagine how 40lb bags will be handled.
That was all, just wanted to share. I'll stick to going to the store and straining the weight limits of the shopping carts.
Funny, I remember when the off-brand pellets were $4 per bag. Sigh.
Even name brand Morton or Diamond Crystal.
I had a softener at my old place and was always buying salt. I want to say I'd pay around $3-4/bag (40 lb) when buying via deals in bulk (e.g. meeting a $50 coupon minimum let's say). I tried to find cheaper ways to get the salt or other methods but the "softener" salt was always the cheapest. I want to say I'd buy it from Sears to use a $10/50 coupon and do pickup.
After that, it was BJ's or Costco. HD/Lowes was a complete rip off. Walmart wasn't bad price-wise. Right now BJ's has Diamond Crystal for $6.29, Home Depot is closer to $9.50. Costco is likely similar but I can't check in-club pricing like I can for Costco. Although we all get a laugh out of delivery, chances are the bag will be beat to hell and probably leaking by the time it gets to you.
