I don't think this is a great deal when the iphone 11 can be had for as low as $60 from Metro PCS, that's with 1 month service included and you wait 6 months instead of 12 for unlocking.

I was able to add the phone and $15 plan by going to phone buy page selecting color and clicking check availability. Then before choosing a plan open new tab and BYOP (https://my.boostmobile.com/shop/buy/plans/) with $15 plan and click Choose Plan. Total (before tax) in cart $214.99.

I think you're thinking of carrier lock phones that Walmart used to sell and maybe some other general retailers.

Those would indeed lock to whatever network's SIM was first inserted. So you could choose.

This is different. This is sold by carrier and locked before it's packaged.

Right, if you've had it since before the loophole closed you should be ok unless you have to reset your device for whatever reason.

Last I checked, they had closed the loophole for new set ups. I had a few older iPhones using rsim since they were locked to total Wireless. I haven't kept up with it once they closed the loophole.

Can you change to the $25 service after the first month. I've done that with cricket. They require you to buy 3 months of the $60 plan but then you can change it to the $30 plan and get 6 months (assuming that plan meets your needs).
