Yes I agree. I have no need for a monitor currently but if I did... This would be the winner.

How does this compare to the S3422DWG that was recently available for $380? If I'm not a hard-core gamer, is it still worth $80 to wait for that deal to come back, or for basic productivity should I just save my money and grab this one? Besides the extra 2 inches and curved screen, are there other features that monitor has that this one doesn't?
That one uses a VA panel instead of the IPS that this uses. However, the 34inch ultrawide has a really good review on Rtings and I'm still sad that I missed that because an old monitor of mine just died and I need something good preferably asap, and since I almost exclusively work in a dark room the blacks of the VA panel sound good.

Anyway, they're very different also because one is ultrawide and one is standard. Hard to give a suggestion without knowing your exact desires/needs.

Also if it means anything I decided to order this one both because I need it now and it makes more sense for what I'm using it for. The IPS panel was a factor, and I would most likely need a new GPU to run things at the ultrawide resolution.

I have both and I eventually settled on the ultrawide. Some food for thought:
  • 32" can be a little overwhelming for FPS gaming but amazing for other games because it's so immersive. Takes a little getting used to.
  • The 32" would make more sense for console gaming.
  • The ultrawide is the height of a 27" screen so it's easier for FPS games
  • Not all games support ultrawide so you may have to deal with black bars
  • Ultrawide is amazing for cinematic movies
  • Having side-by-side windows open for productivity on the ultrawide is really nice. Something I use often. Explorer windows for copying files easily or 2 streaming browsers open at the same time.
  • I don't notice any significant difference between the VA and IPS panels. Both are excellent.
  • I find the PPI is noticeably better on the ultrawide (109 vs 91). Text is sharper which I prefer.
  • The quality of the Dell displays is top notch. Having a 3 year warranty is awesome. So either of them would be a good choice

I'm currently on 2x 27" monitors and I'm weird 32" will be too big. Has anyone made the switch and have any comments? I really like this deal, it ticks all the boxes, high hz, 2k, IPS, and on budget.

Thanks for this post, just saw it after posting myself. But I'm waiting for 27" minutes I guess based on what you said. I'm an FPS gamer, albeit very infrequently, but still I was worried about it being too large and you're spot on, it will be overwhelming I think.

Thanks to KupoCheer and MartmeisterDealz for the quick and detailed analysis of the 2 monitors. Since I wasn't clear, I'm not much of a gamer. My primary use is daily productivity - Word, Chrome, and Outlook, with an occasional movie thrown in.

How does that affect your recommendations about whether this 32" deal is adequate for me, or whether I should hold off since I'm not in a rush and spend the extra $80 for the 34" when that deal comes back?

I don't play game. Mostly coding, side-by-side windows like Putty and VS code or sometimes 3 windows. I feel the 27 is a bit small when split into 2 windows. Maybe I'll upgrade one monitor to this 32". Thanks

For productivity you will likely benefit from a monitor with 4K res for sharper text etc

I was using 2 x S2721DGF monitors previosuly and and made the switch to this 32" monitor and I enjoy it. I'm in my 50's and seeing objects in fast moving FPS games is a little more challening than it used to be. This monitor made things a bit larger for me and I definately enjoy it and I still get a high smooth refresh rate in game, which I love. I also have HP 32" monitors for my work from home setup so I'm definately used to a full 32" 1440p experience now.

Depends on your eyesight tbh bigger difference from center to edges than on smaller screen so if your vision isn't 20/20 or better edges will appear blurry.

Thanks to this thread I'm now looking at my new 32" Dell Gaming monitor!

Initial impressions are that it is plenty bright for indoor/office use. Text is clear enough for me for general use. Youtube videos at 1440/60 are beautiful. I haven't gamed on it yet but I will say that I'm super happy I'm not locked into Nvidia when I finally get around to upgrading my 1070.

This replaced a 27" and it's a huge upgrade!

Thanks for this info. I'm a little younger but feel my eyes are aging so I was a bit worried. But I went ahead and ordered 2 of these suckers. Good return policy, I've ordered dells for my last 4 monitors and am always happy.

Yes. A 27" 1440p VA panel to this 32" IPS. I'm really enjoying the upgrade.

How is this for photo processing? Currently using a 27 and 2x 24 together but notice that the colors aren't as true on them.
Use this PC for gaming, work and photo processing. So would probably just do a dual monitor setup or try for this plus the 2x 24's in vertical mode

*Edited* - Also how does it compare to say https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...EIQAvD_BwE
