How long does it takes for them to ship the product? I placed the order last Friday. They charged my PayPal account right after I placed the order but hasn't received any status on the shipment

Received mine today. I can confirm the dual male micro USB is unregulated 8V open circuit from the panel, and the two plugs are in parallel. The female USB ports on the box are separate. 1 panel won't have high enough voltage for solar controllers so I tried splicing 2 panels up in series and got 15.6V open circuit in afternoon sun.

In afternoon sun I got about 24W (13.3V at 1.8A) from the 2 in series which is less than I expected for the conditions, but maybe it was a bad connection (I was using alligator clips to temporarily connect the wires). A 100W rigid panel in the same conditions was getting 75-80W.
So I can just strip and splice these together and then wire into a controller and charge a deep cycle 12v? Electricity despite its simplicity seems to confuse me more than it should.

2 panels in series is gives you 16V open circuit but only about 13.5V at max power. I think 12V lead acid needs over 14V to fully charge so you probably want to get 3 panels for your controller unless you just need to keep the battery from going dead.

Just reply to your order confirmation e-mail asking for the tracking number. I did and they replied within an hour.

Got 2 for $17 shipped with 2.5% Cash Back (Can't mention site/method here) and paid via Paypal; thanks OP.

I'm basically hoping on doing something similar. I have some power banks that I never use and plan on trying to charge them via these solar panels.

I'm hoping to make a few Blink XT2 cameras that I got from Woot refurbished for $12 each solar powered.

The XT2s have a USB port on the back that I'm assuming is for powering the cameras. So the power chain will be solar panel to power bank then XT2. Let the half ars experiments begin...
I attempted this exact project a couple years ago. The trick is definitely finding a power bank that can take current in, while putting out enough current to trigger the motion sensor without the bank powering down from lack of draw. I am still at the drawing board.

So I need a math double-check. My primary power banks have a 3A input, lower than the panel's output for each port. So limiting the panel output to 6A, that's 0.003kW per hour, right? If I paid $9.54 total, at 10 cents per kWh (electric company rate) my break-even point should be 3,180 hours ($9.54 ÷ 0.003) correct? So at 12 hours per day that would be 256 12-hour days to break even? Obviously there will be plenty of days where it will be cloudy, raining, snowing, shorter winter hours, etc. But I'm just getting a rough idea. Even at a 6 hour per day average that's still less than 2 years to break even, right?

Seems like a no-brainer.
Another consideration with solar calculations is peak sun hours. Even with a correctly aimed panel when it appears bright in the morning and afternoon, the ground does not receive as much solar insolation at low solar angles. I see a lot of people assume a 20W panel will put out 20W all day, but for many it will only put out 20W for a couple hours per day and the rest needs to be added up and averaged. The average for "peak sun" hours in the US is roughly 3-5 hours. Peak sun hours are the equivalent of solar noon hours (sun directly overhead). These are based on averages for your region and do not account for abnormally cloudy/hazy conditions on certain years. I doubt you get >6 hours of "peak sun" per day so you will not likely be able to charge your given power banks daily unless you live on the equator. Also:
  • solar tracking to maximize output constantly (even an hour going by the sun will move enough to drop a couple percent of power output
  • efficiency losses: charger bank input, and solar USB regulator efficiency is almost always near 70-90% on budget solar electronics. This panel may produce 20W but charging a power bank may only yield <16W.
  • seasonally shorter days in winter (but more efficient low solar cell temperatures) and longer days in summer (but lower cell efficiency in warmer climates)
Note: I've been up for over 24 solar hours so this may not make any sense at all
This map shows solar irradiance per day which is equivalent to peak sun hours: https://www.nrel.gov/gis/assets/i...ale-01.jpg

Yeah I did notice they were doing things out of order. I don't know why, but I haven't seen any complaints of cancelations/MIA.

After checking, mine said it was "on the way" yesterday and arrived at 9am this morning. Only email prior was the order confirmation/thank you.

Repped for the response. Thanks hopefully I get a update soon. I'm not in a hurry but just curious about the status

No big deal. Thanks. You'll get it, they seem to be honest from the evidence I've seen so far. Just my opinion, but I am impressed with the quality of it for the price.

Good to know.

I emailed them twice. They finally replied yesterday with UPS tracking number.

Normally, online stores don't charge your payment until they ship the item. In this case, mine was charged and didn't hear from them for 7 days.

Made perfect sense to me.

I've noticed some of these cheap regulators really limit the draw. For instance, I have 4 usb marine chargers on my solar rig in the house. 2 of the USBs are a cheap piece that came with a marine plate. Those chargers get hot and can not support stuff much higher than a phone charge. The other is one I bought separate of higher quality and it can charge a power bank at 19 watts plus something else on the other port.

I suspect based on what this panel is "really for" that the separate USB chargers on it were not a priority. They're probably of cheap design to just be used with a phone. Not all regulators are created equal.

Btw: If you have a regulator/buck converter that you like to use I'd like to know which one it is

I was able to properly wire 2 panels in series and do another test this afternoon. With panels angled directly at full sun I was able to get a max of 37W with cold panels. Once they warmed up after 10 minutes it was around 33W. My 100W rigid panel got about 85W while warm in the same conditions. So I'd say the 20W rating is fair and if you are able to use the 6-8V per panel unregulated output directly with a solar controller or generator it's pretty good.

I also did a basic test of the USB-A ports. Under the same conditions where the panel was producing over 16W unregulated, the USB port would quickly drop below 5V if I tried pulling more than 2A from it. Max wattage was around 10.3W at 4.3V/2.4A. I don't think the 4A per port for USB-A is accurate if it can't produce anywhere close to 5V 3A when the panel is receiving 16W.
Could you explain how you are able to wire 2 of these panels in series? Picture or illustration would be helpful if possible. Would it also be possible to wire 2 of them in parallel? I thought parallel was usually better because if one of the panels in series gets shaded, then the setup wouldn't provide any power?
