If I could go back I would have gotten this instead of a Ryobi set. Lifetime service agreement has so much upside. Batteries worn out? You get new ones. They don't make those anymore? You get the better ones. Brushed motors wore out? You get new ones. They don't make them anymore? You get the better ones!
Nice set, but keep in mind it is brushed.
Even pros used brushed for decades. They are still great tools. If you are a casual DIYer it'll take years and years to get to the point where brushed tools wear down compared to brushless.

I own a Ridgid brushed drill and impact driver and both are great. I also own Ryobi tools which are still very good but you can tell Ridgid is a little better.

The battery life is a lot better. I was reading Q&A on the Home Depot website and people were asking questions about the lifetime warranty, every answer from Ridgid was given a indirect answer, you can go read them, kinda sketchy. They are basically avoiding answering the questions.
In my experience, as long as you do the LSA registration properly Ridgid honors the LSA. I've had 3 batteries replaced quickly, 1 nailer repaired and a drill replaced. No hassle, no problems.

when you registered, did you confirm that the website said LSA activated? If not, you might not have gotten them to activate it.
Had this happen to me. When I bought my first ridgid tool set, I registered it, uploaded the receipt and thought I was good. 3 months later, I randomly remember and decide to check if the LSA was approved. Nope. It was still sitting as pending. A quick chat and it was approved. Ever since then, I've always followed up with a chat and had them approved right away. Not a great way to run service but I get it. The tools have all been great though and haven't had to get them serviced at all.

I bought a 5 tool combo with 2 4 amp batteries from Home Depot back in 2020, and I have added a vacuum and inflator along the way from DTO. I'm very impressed with the tools for how I use them, and the inflator got my nephew's flat tire rolling with no problem.

As mentioned, when you upload the copy of your receipts, make sure it goes from pending to LSA warranted. Check the site often and call them if needed.

Objectively in terms of performance, no. But, it's a good brand that's more than sufficient for non-pros and back their products with lifetime service agreement. Probably one of the best ones in terms of value.

Last Ridgid set I bought new from Home Depot and registered with receipt for LSA kept getting denied for LSA by Ridgid without explanation. The main selling point is the LSA because otherwise I'd just purchase a superior Milwaukee set. I won't be buying anymore Ridgid tools since they didn't hold up their end of the deal. Buyer beware.

Milwaukee Fuel products are as good as they get. Non fuel, Rigid is as good if not better. It's Fuel or nothing with Milwaukee. With Rigid, you probably want Brushless. Rigid has a nice warranty and their tools are competitive but never the best. Still really good. Their warranty is a big selling point.

Most don't appreciate difference between brushed and brushless. Latter being a lot more $$, 2x, 3x more.

If the deal looks too good, double check if brushless.

Nothing wrong with brushed, but it won't last more than 5 years of light use. If you're just screwing wood nails a few a year, then it will last much longer.
What? Light use? 5 years? I still have brushed tools from up to and over 20 years ago that still work fine. Milwaukee, Porter Cable and Dewalt. I've used these tools like crazy back in the day and once in awhile nowadays.

Ridgid has had several "Best In Class" tools that have outperformed Big Red and Yellow over the years according to countless online comparisons.

Second that story. Although mine was like 9 months later and they instantly changed it over chat. I just said, you have my receipt in your system and the purchase/submittal date why is it showing 3 year instead of LSA, and they changed it that minute.

I am happy with my ridgid but mine are brushless. Got it at the end of December 2022 and used it to take down the outdoor security light that was rusted in to everything.....it ripped the metal on the light because the bolts were that rusted! That is the power these things have. I can not speak about warranty because I just got mine but I am adding more and more to it as sales pop up. WAY better than my old Craftsman set. Brushed would be fine for home use I think but they should just stop making them and go to all brushless to avoid confusion.
