Hey Dude is (at least it used to be) an Italian shoe brand that started 16 or 17 years ago. I used to pick them up on Ideeli for $10. I don't think there's ever been a TV show, but they used to include a funky keychain of the dude and their original website was in Italian.

Both.

They are good shoes in the sense that they are extremely comfortable.

They are however foam soled shoes, so they will have poor durability compared to rubber soles.

The reviews are all over the place. I normally wear an 11.5 but they dont sell half sizes. Some people say they run big and some say they run small. Some say they are narrow and some say too wide. Is it just a crap shoot with poor quality control? It also seems there is a no return policy? Anyone have experience?

I have the Sketchers, but just ordered my first pair of Hey Dudes after seeing this post so I can't compare! For the Sketchers, I will say, I don't think they look quite as good, but they are super comfortable. There's a stitch up by where your pinky toe would be that concerns me. Hopefully it holds up, but if not, I'll still have my HD's!

I think the Skechers is an imitation of the Hey Dude version, and they're not as comfortable. These have a similar feel to an older gen go walk, rather than the (imo) memory foam foot bed that squishes in and feels hard.
