I agree with bullgates. I have a custom Windows desktop that I love, and I think I'll always have a Windows desktop at home. But for laptop? I didn't think twice before going with a MacBook Pro (14" M1). And for tablet? Again I didn't think twice before buying another iPad Pro 12.9" (my first one is 7y4m old, bought on day one!).
The way iOS and macOS integrate is great. I can send photos and files between devices with AirDrop extremely easily. My passwords and browsing data are synchronized across all three devices. I can send photos to others in the household via AirDrop. Same for photos, they're synced between all three devices.
Personally I think it's sad there isn't stronger competition when it comes to tablets. I may be ignorant here, to what Android and Windows competition looks like. iOS/macOS integration aside, I'm going to guess that iPad Pros destroy them when it comes to power/performance/battery due to the M1 and M2 CPU's. And when it comes to support?? My >7 year old 2015 iPad Pro 12.9" is running iOS 16... SEVEN years lol... Competition is good for consumers, and I wish there was more of it between iPad Pros and other devices.
I was just having this conversation with my nephew.
In regards to Windows tablets. Surface tablets have all but failed and been abandoned. That's the manufacturer of the OS and they can't get it right which highlights how well built the entire Apple ecosystem is in the way the products integrate and synergize with one another.
Think about Samsung, Microsoft, and Google forming a super company and taking the best things from each. Well that's exactly what Apple is.
I say this as a PC user getting into the Mac ecosystem.
I could never justify the ecosystem knowing it had Intel internals but now that they have cpu gpu in house it's paying for the Apple experience.
That makes sense to me. It makes sense to anyone that has to diagnose extended family PC issues... There is always an issue with windows machines.

Thanks bullgates, same to you
I only hope Microsoft, Samsung, and others get their sh*t together. It would be good for us as consumers, and would push/pressure Apple to develop even more amazing devices to stay ahead. I feel fortunate to have been able to buy this M1 MacBook Pro last year and now this M1 iPad Pro. Apple Silicon really has revolutionized these two product categories. This MacBook (and my work MacBook) run SOOO much cooler and quieter, and faster!! They're a real joy to use. Anyway I could go on and on. Enjoy your iOS/macOS devices!
