This has been discussed in some All-Clad deal threads over the past 6 months but I had not seen a dedicated post explaining the deal, and the deadline is approaching to submit a claim.

BACKGROUND

From 2015 - 2022, All-Clad advertised its D3, D5, and LTD pans as dishwasher safe. In fact, if you put these pans in the dishwasher with harsh detergents, over time the detergents can slowly eat away at the exposed middle aluminum layer. The result is that the edges of your pan lose their smooth finish.

THE SETTLEMENT

If you purchased any of these lines between 1/1/2015 and 7/29/2022, you may claim a settlement from All-Clad.
Even if you didn't receive a notice in the mail, or have your receipt, you may submit a claim here [multi-plycookwaresettlement.com].
Your choices are:
  1. If you have pieces that have developed "sharp edges," you have 3 choices to trade them in:
    1. All-Clad will replace those pieces and provide a payment of $75. If you purchased the (now discontinued) LTD line, they will be replaced with D3 pieces.
      OR
    2. You may opt instead to receive a free "dishwasher safe" cookware set -- either the Hard Anodized (HA1) 5-piece fry-pan set [all-clad.com] or the Essentials Hard Anodized Nonstick 13-piece cookware set [all-clad.com]. Both sets are aluminum pans with nonstick coatings. They are not the quality of D3 or D5 pans, and I wouldn't recommend the dishwasher for these, either. Also note that the Essentials line is not induction compatible.
      OR
    3. You may opt instead to receive a future purchase credit of 50% off purchases up to a total purchase of $1,200 (i.e., $600 value) for any products on All-Clad's website.
  2. If you've discarded your pieces, or if they have not developed "sharp edges," then you can provide a proof of purchase (such as order confirmation or credit card receipt) to receive a future purchase credit of 35% off purchases up to a total purchase of $750 (i.e., $262 value) for any products on All-Clad's website.
UPDATE: You must submit a separate claim form for each piece in your collection that you want to return or replace. It's a short online claim form, so this is easy.

The deadline to submit your claim is April 28, 2023
Note re timing: The original claim form states that claims will be reviewed and validated on a continuing, rolling basis. All Claim Forms will beprocessed after the ClaimsDeadline. Based on the original timeline, we can anticipate that vouchers will be sent out starting in May/June, and replacement Cookware could be sent out starting in August.

Do you need to have bought it directly from All-Clad to apply? I'm pretty sure I bought during the timeframe, but two of my pans were through Amazon, and the D5 deep saute pan was probably through TJ Max/HomeSense/Marshalls.
There is no requirement that you purchased the pans direct from All-Clad.

Option 1.1 requires shipping back the older piece?
Yes. No communication yet regarding the logistics of that.

If I have to send them in and wait an eternity for a replacement, then that's certainly a temporary hit to my kitchen; but my attitude is fill out the claim form now, and hope the process won't be too onerous.

how "sharp" do these edges have to be? I have definitely dishwashed my D3 pans and wouldn't mind an extra $75
I have some older D3 pans that I've put through the dishwasher hundreds of times and I never noticed any deterioration and certainly no "sharpness", then I bought a new pan this year and side-by-side it was Bigeye. They really weren't smooth anymore and I hadn't realized it. I expect that anything that doesn't look like it's brand new polished will be accepted.

Hi have a few all-clad SS and nonstick pans, is there a way to identify what model they are? I looked and other than the brand, does not say what model or line they are.
This doesn't apply to any nonsticks. If you have stainless clad pans of this vintage, then they are going to be D3, D5, or LTD.

I have a couple of all clad ltd pans, but no receipt and have gotten no note in the mail. Can I still file a claim and just choose option 1.1 to ship it back?

Yes, your receipt is basically when you ship the original pans to them.

Just checked my pieces and most have this issue developing on the exposed aluminum edge. A couple exceptions were a stock pot and a saute pan that seem to have more layers.

A little disappointing, but I'm glad they're addressing it with replacements.

Hopefully even the factory seconds are covered in this, as that's where I usually buy them.

I don't know that it's a QC issue, just bad instructions.

I bought my D5 set Dec 23, 2014. A couple of pieces are exhibiting this problem. Guess I'm SOL.

So slick! We got our D5 in 2018 and most have this. Also scratched a few of them so this is perfect :-)

I bought these during the window mentioned in OP, and they are stainless, but I don't see any mention of them being any of the covered models (no model mentioned) - does anyone know if they are?

Anyone else have trouble uploading a receipt? I've tried multiple times and then emailed them (with no response). Very frustrating!

Does anyone know if only certain D3s and D5s are eligible? I can't find a list anywhere, and I have both stainless steel and nonsticks.
