I've been tempted to get one of these since they were released but its still priced rather high. I have a feeling we'll see these show up on Woot in the near future.

I've been waiting for a deal on the Scribe, and I'm not certain you can get much better than this: $253.59 OTD (including 20% trade-in discount and $30 trade-in value (gift card) that can be used towards this purchase). Maybe Prime Day will beat this some how, but I would imagine not by much.

For those who are interested in the drawing capabilities on the Scribe, I read it just got an update to the software on 3/7 that added pressure-sensitivity and shading (tilt recognition) to the pen. A major upgrade for sketching.

The only reason I have an Oasis at all is the page turn buttons. That's also why I haven't gotten the Scribe. I would definitely be happy with a lower-end cheaper model if it had buttons. The page turner crowd isn't the biggest though, sadly.
I too have an Oasis and really like the buttons. I am considering jumping in this deal because I have books that don't look very good on 7" in screen (books on technical topics) and it can only be solved by using bigger screens. I have been holding out because the need is not that strong, but a good discount as in this thread might be a good excuse to buy one. And I probably would buy this separately, try it for some time, and if it works well maybe sell the Oasis by myself -- kindle is quite easy to sell locally.

I got offered $5 trade-in + 20% off applied instantly for $70 off the bundle for my Echo Dot Gen 2 that haven't been plugged in for a couple of years. If you can find one locally for $5-10 and set it up that may be a way better trade option than sending in your beloved old Kindle.

I have a current model Oasis and am itching to "upgrade" it but the scribe seems like it's built for a whole different use case. Maybe if I were back in grad school or something I could justify it, but as you point out, I don't think the scribe is gonna be good for holding in one hand for reading, especially as it has no physical buttons.

As annoying as it is for the Oasis to be the supposed flagship kindle device and yet not have a recent refresh, I guess I'll keep putting up with its micro-usb port and comparatively antiquated processor. That paperwhite *signature* has been tempting a couple of times, but, again, it's still more a gussied up midrange device than a premium one. I wonder if the Oasis is just in a peculiar class with too little demand for Amazon to do anything with.
My wife has the Oasis and I have the scribe. I can tell you the Scribe is much easier to hold in one hand than the Oasis, but it doesn't have the splash proofing of the oasis.

Yep, this is why I purchased the scribe. The scribe is so quick, it really doesn't need physical buttons and the handwriting is also very fast, like writing on paper. Overall the tech books and handwriting make the scribe worth the price of admission.

what if you set up a trade-in to get the 20% off but never send in the kindle....do you just get the 20% off instantly and get to keep your old kindle?
I have the Oasis 9th gen and it's 6.5 oz while this Scribe one is 15.5 oz. seems a bit bigger ad heavier for one hand holding.
I got the Kindle Scribe earlier this year with 20% off and $10 gift card for trading in my old Kindle. I decided I wanted to keep the old Kindle and cancelled the trade-in. I got charged $10 for the gift card but nothing charged back for the 20% discount. The Scribe is very nice, but I also like having a smaller device for travel.

Has anyone tried returning the items that are in the bundle after receiving the bundle? Can't remove them from the cart, but hoping to be able to send the useless power brick and the overpriced case back for refunds.

Does this apply to all devices? I thought Amazon had different "classes" of trade in (Kindle, Echo, Fire) and the coupon you get from trading in one could only be used towards the purchase of another device in the same "class".

I would get this but if you are buying it as a note taking device, reviews are not favorable compared to Remarkable 2 and Boox Note Air 2

I love this stuff! I would own a Scribe right now if I didn't know about the Lenovo Smart Paper. I used to own a Pulse Smart Pen and I LOVED the ability to record audio as I wrote my notes. It completely changed the way I took notes - really making them more of a roadmap to the recording. So...when I found out the Smart Paper supports audio (and currently, apparently, the Scribe does not), I decided to hold out. This deal is making it harder to hold!
