I don't have dogs but was curious about your response. After a search on the Google machine, I found several sites that state lentil flour is perfectly safe for dogs and is commonly used in dog foods/snacks. Can you provide your source?

This is a common misconception. Lentils are perfectly safe as a snack. They just can't be the "primary" protein. And part of a balanced diet

To cause cavities, bacteria have to have fermentable carbohydrates. Chia seeds are almost totally devoid of these fermentable carbohydrates. They are almost entirely fat (which inhibits caries), protein, and fiber, so they would not have any strong association with decay.
