Had this for dinner last night, 2 legs,2 wings,2 thighs and 2 breasts. I added a couple of sides and made a meal out of it for under $20. Good deal as a option if there's no time to cook supper.

My local HMart sells whole roast chickens for only $3.99 each. That's cheaper than a raw whole chicken, which often sells for $6-$8. The local Stop and Shop used to have 8 pieces of fried chicken for $6.99 about 2 years ago (until it became the forementioned HMart). Keep in mind that these are NYC prices amidst an avian flu which killed millions of chickens (and causing egg prices to rise astronomically).
That's an awesome price! I'm in Ohio and I haven't seen $3.99 ever; $4.99 is the cheapest I've seen and it was at that price for over a decade. I checked prices yesterday at my local grocery and the rotisserie chickens there are $6.99.

Okay, you have got to let us know what the heck supermarket you're shopping at so we can all avoid this horrible chicken.
For me it's Meijer. TONS of horrible tasting breading on tiny pieces of chicken to make them look bigger; $4.99 for 3 pieces. Rotisserie is a better deal there for $6.99 but doesn't satisfy the fried chicken craving.

Just had kfc today bc of this deal. Man I don't remember being this bad. Popeyes, Jellibee, churches and even local publix fried chicken is way better
I love Popeyes but it's so far away. It's been a couple decades since I've had Churches (none here now) but I recall it being excellent. But then, KFC used to be good too and probably still is at some locations; our local one is trash because they change the times on the chicken and sell old stuff. I know this because it was bad before and after my kid worked there but not when he worked there and refused to doctor the times.

The CIA brainwashed the masses into thinking hot was the way to go so they would stop having picnics and enjoying life.

Costco rotisserie is around $6 with sameday delivery service. I'd eat it every week if not for the high sodium

Lol, wut. Okay, okay, I realize every supermarket is different, but every 8-piece order of supermarket chicken I've ever seen is easily half again bigger than an 8-piece order from KFC. Only one or two would pick the supermarket? If you find yourself around Chicago, go scope out the lines of people buying fried chicken at any supermarket around lunchtime, and then compare that to the ghost town that is any nearby KFC.
I swear Chicago should have food tours (I would sign up) because everybody I know who has been there talks about how great all the food is!

Correct. On my order they said just go ahead and place the order through the drive-through but said couldn't match the app price so I just did it in the app after they confirmed they would give me all thighs.

Just pair a piece or two with fresh veggies, top a salad or pizza, make chicken and rice or pasta, etc

Debone it and freeze to make it last week while lessening the salt.

There are so many food tours here.

You're not wrong. Many of the people I grew up with moved to all corners of the country and beyond, but the first thing anyone wants to do when they come back is eat. I'm not all that well traveled so I can't personally claim that our food is better than anywhere else, but I've certainly heard a lot of very well traveled people claim that our food can't be beat.

It also makes an awesome chicken soup, and that's another way to knock the sodium per serving way down.
