This is a lot of card for the money, but think it's only worth it if you really want 1440p high refresh rate. Otherwise, your 5700 xt is plenty. I went from a 5700 to a 3080 last year and although there is a nice difference, it doesn't really change what I can/could play.

Edit: to add, and if you wanted 4k this card isn't going to be that great.

Seems that you are in a good position to hold out and see what the 7700xt/7800 products have to offer.

Doesn't seem to be worth 450 to make that minor of an upgrade, IMO.

I agree with king617, you should target 1440p with this video card. Another thing to note, that this video card is one of the few newer video cards that hardly reaches 250w power draw. Most other high performance video cards tend to pass 300w, which is a lot of demand for a power supply. 220/250 is still a lot, but not 300w. Another good contender for 1400p gaming and similar power draw is the 2080ti used off of ebay. Most are going for less than 400$ on ebay, but this 6800 does edge it out in performance by 10-15 frames here and there. Also we are talking about used vs new , i always prefer new.

I try to steer clear of Gigabyte products, but this is a good deal. I think this is the best cost-per-frame deal going right now, except maybe one of the Intel cards. I have a feeling these are going to start coming down in price more quickly as the new generation of cards are released and that other manufacturers are going to follow suit shortly.

Why steer clear from Gigabyte product? i bought Gigabyte GPU since it's the only card (that I know of) that has 2 HDMI and 2 Dport out, others has 3 Dport and 1 HDMI.

I have a 5700xt as well. I'm getting 115-120 fps on CoD MW2 at 1440p (lower settings mostly). I see no need to buy into the video card hype right now. Maybe in another year or two...

6700XT VS 3070 VS 6800

The 3070 is a straight rip off and uses over 250w. 6800 is super efficient.

You can also easily get a 3070 for around $350 used that will stick around 220w and come close to performance of this card, counting RT features. 2080ti will use at least 40-50w more on average.

If you're okay with used, that is.

Got the 6800xt as rock for $489 including taxes last black Friday and I can say it's a monster. Diablo 4 maxed out on 2k doesn't dip below 130-140fps and hits my monitors 165hz threshold about 90% of the time. This card should be close and performance per dollar is pretty good, I'd pull the trigger if anyone needs a powerful gpu

nod

Wasn't a show stopper. I still bought it. I just don't usually get hit with shipping at NewEgg.

Funny looking at video cards. Once you hit the $500 to $600 range it's always "only" $100 to the next model up (and not getting a prior generation model).

I'm not a heavy gamer... I think more about playing games then actually finding time to play them. Couldn't convince myself to push to $800 for a 7900 XT (if I really wanted to go high end). Maybe if they knock another $100 off the price.

I'm upgrading from the $399 3060 I managed to "win" from the NewEgg Shuffle during the great video card shortage of '21. Been awhile since I've gone AMD. It just seems like Nvidia needs to be taken down a few notches.

At least I can play "Last of Us" now that I've seen season 1.

Thanks OP.

Can you, or anyone, suggest a 4K card to look out for that isn't going to break my wallet?

I'm running to an LG OLED (OLED55C1PUB 55" 4K).

Not about the card, but about the games that you play at what framerates and quality setting.
