This is a lot of card for the money, but think it's only worth it if you really want 1440p high refresh rate. Otherwise, your 5700 xt is plenty. I went from a 5700 to a 3080 last year and although there is a nice difference, it doesn't really change what I can/could play.

Edit: to add, and if you wanted 4k this card isn't going to be that great.

Seems that you are in a good position to hold out and see what the 7700xt/7800 products have to offer.

Doesn't seem to be worth 450 to make that minor of an upgrade, IMO.

I agree with king617, you should target 1440p with this video card. Another thing to note, that this video card is one of the few newer video cards that hardly reaches 250w power draw. Most other high performance video cards tend to pass 300w, which is a lot of demand for a power supply. 220/250 is still a lot, but not 300w. Another good contender for 1400p gaming and similar power draw is the 2080ti used off of ebay. Most are going for less than 400$ on ebay, but this 6800 does edge it out in performance by 10-15 frames here and there. Also we are talking about used vs new , i always prefer new.

Dumb question but can this card do Skyrim fully modded with all the graphic mods, enb, smp hair, clothing, etc etc.. that always takes a load and drops fps heavily. I want to see at least a constant 60fps. o do dips to 30.

yeah yeah yeah I know it's an old game but I still play it because all the mods are so cool and makes it up to date.

Most likely yes, because it has 16GB of VRAM. The mods load lots of high rez textures into the VRAM.

Can you, or anyone, suggest a 4K card to look out for that isn't going to break my wallet?

I'm running to an LG OLED (OLED55C1PUB 55" 4K).
IMO that card doesn't exist. The 4090 is probably the closest and that's really pricey ($1700-$2000). The next tier down is 7900xtx/4080, but to get the 120fps to saturate your TV's refresh rate, you'd probably need to upscale to 4k through dlss/fsr.

P.S. when I say "4k card" I mean a card that can run pretty much anything you throw at it at that resolution.

I do a lot of upscaling (Topaz VEAI) with my 6700XT, frankly more than gaming. Given the substantial increase in compute units, should I consider this while I can still flip the 6700 for about $300? Or is that completely insane?

I dont think you can transfer game code. Per email instruction, it will check and match your graphic card installed in your PC in order for you to play ...

Decent deal if you NEED a NEW card right now. Otherwise, this will see sub $400 in short order (as will the price of equivalent performers from the new gen coming out).

The simple fact is that there is still a ton of GPU inventory and demand has fallen off a cliff. Demand will not be returning significantly anytime soon.

Used is the superior route at this time.
