After year 2, they all start to degrade exponentially. Even if stored right - with correct temperatures/charge - they will begin to hold 1/2 a charge or less, making it a PITA the use.
I have 5 ego tools, 2x 2.5ah, and 2x 5.0ah. I love being electric. Super easy to start/stop. No fussing with gas/oil/spark plugs. But ultimately, you will be paying for battery replacements more frequently than you thought.
Does the price of these batteries offset the inconvenice of gas? That's for you to decide. I'm just not happy I'm going to have to fork over $500 for batteries when I'm not even on my 4th year with these tools. Ego should offer some kinda replacement program if these batteries become paperweights so quickly.
Full disclosure: Any EGO stuff $200-300, the protection plan is $50, but I had a coupon that made my $219 trimmer under $200, so that's why my warranty was only $30.

Completely agree. The batteries are not very good at all. I have had four of my five batteries fail in under four years. Two within the first year and even one of the replacements failed within a few months.
He is accurate.
What are you guys doing to your batteries?!? Lol I have 5 batteries, 2 of them are pretty old and get used constantly, and one I even bought used and have had for several years after that, and have had zero issues with any of them, they get used in my blower, string trimmer, chain saw, power station (that's the only product I'm not a fan of). They do not get babied and still are in good health.

Maybe you're lucky? I had a half acre lot. Summers got into the high 90s with high humidity.
I have 1.5 acres, and always high humidity here as well, 80s and 90s, I store the batteries inside, don't have a push mower that I use them in tho, use a gas zero turn for all the mowing
