    It's all about efficiency because you can combine keyboard shortcuts, launch multiple programs, not have to take both hands off your keyboard and mouse to press four-button shortcuts, have pages change to functions tailored to your active program so using Program A has selected keys and Program B has different keys for that program.

    I put my current games on a games page off my main set. Rather than trying to remember which service a game is on (Steam, Epic, GOG, etc.), then open that client, then rummage through the library to find the game then click it to launch it, I merely press the games submenu button then the game's button.

    If I'm in a game and want to take a screenshot there's a key for that instead of having to press a three-key shortcut and another key to launch Bandicam if I forget to before I launched the game rather than Alt-Tabbing out to launch it. If I want to take a screen grab of my desktop, which is easier: Pressing Windows+Shift+S or one button on the Stream Deck?

    I have a 5.1 speaker setup connected to my PC and a recording interface which feeds studio monitors and headphones. Before when I wanted to switch between them I'd have to click the speaker icon on the taskbar, click the list of audio devices and figure out which of the multiple options caused by DisplayPort monitors showing as audio outputs and the PC having digital and analog outputs and the interface I want to toggle between. Now I have one button that toggles between the PC and interface AND I have the pictures of the speakers and the interface on the button so I can tell at a glance which is active.

    In DaVinci Resolve and REAPER, there are so many keyboard shortcuts which have up to four keys each, it's impossible to remember them all, but I don't have to because I have a button I can tap which does it for me.

    Sure, you can do everything the hard way and save the money on this gadget, but there's a reason people use microwave ovens and air fryers when they already own a stove with oven.

    Yes. And it is made by Elgato who makes these Smilie. From what I hear there is a slight delay when using since going over WiFi but thought about this myself. But ended up buying my 3rd one. Use for work to open most used docs, folders, programs, etc. I have on another computer for watching movies, launching games, etc.

The only challenge is sometimes the deck is slow to catch up and I might have to toggle the switch again so it connects to the PC properly. You couldn't run it to two PCs simultaneously since the button configuration "lives" on the PC. I dont think it would know which one to use.
