I told myself the same thing, and it didn't work out well.. It's not a must have purchase yet, but I'm telling you, the future is bright with xgt.. The power difference is quite substantial, but the weight factor has me reaching for my 18v tools more often. My favorite 40v tool is the stick vacuum. Absolute beast and the hepa filter is a game .

What's the rpm on the drill if it's over 2100 I'm in.
Cannot find a faster cordless than 2100 rpm.

I feel like the only deal I might bite on the 40v line would be the Plunge cut track saw kit. Until then I'm quite happy with the 18v line.

I will stay with my 18v line makita for power tools and ego stuff for lawn care an maintenance. I didn't even know they had a 40 v line

Would I regret getting this if I intend to use the hammer drill as my primary cordless drill? Is there a disadvantage to using the hammer drill (with the hammer mode off) vs. a regular drill? Weight, ergonomics, etc.
