So section 25D allows for a tax credit for certain energy-efficient property, which includes solar-electric property, solar water heating property, fuel cell property, small wind energy property, and qualified geothermal heat pump property, among other types of energy-efficient property.
While an Ecoflow power station does not fit within any of the specific categories listed, it may still qualify for the tax credit if it meets certain criteria. For example, it may qualify if it uses solar panels to charge its batteries or if it is part of a home energy system that meets certain energy efficiency standards.
Like any emergency plan there is redundancy.
Additionally it can more efficiently use your gas generator as charging is a constant load vs having (even an inverter) genny running is wasteful for most large appliances that cycle on and off.
The time that the fridge is off, or the FAU isn't running the inverter genny is just idling away wasting gas or powering a few lights.
Thank you in advance to the gurus.

That's an issue by me. Here outages are 2 types
- isolated, like a tree falls by your house or something like that. These are typically cleaned up and power restored quickly, less than a few hours. In which case there's not much incentive to go through the hassle of trying to get a generator going, or in this case hauling the battery around to plug in appliances since they'll be fine for the short amount of time the power's out.
- large-scale, as in the majority of the region. Then, power is typically out for days on a wide scale, so the very few EV chargers won't have power, and these units won't last long; if it's in a colder month, what do I do, run extension cords all over the place (refrig/freezer and boiler) just for the unit to go dead within hours? Or, just have a gas generator that can run 240v into my panel indefinitely?
