Question for self-hosted folks, if we upgrade the RAM and keep it plugged in at home, can this be used as a home-server I can remote into to be super-productive on my android tablet?
I'm pretty sure you can change the power settings to make it not go to sleep when plugged in.

Has anyone done a comparison between the M1/M2 screen vs an Asus OLED? I'm curious.

I've seen benchmarks of this laptop compared to other laptops with the 12700h, this laptop suffers from bad thermals resulting in throttling. I can't speak on the M1, but I imagine the M2 is superior than this machine.

I own this laptop and run this daily. I use whisper mode to keep the fans from blasting. The battery life is not anywhere close to Apple Silicon, but the display is beautiful.

Good deal for a nice laptop. I'm pretty sure I paid about the same price a couple months ago for open box.

Just be aware that battery life is the killer on this thing. Display is beautiful but you gotta keep the brightness low to extend battery life if you're on the go. I upgraded to 24gb with a 16gb stick of ram. Overall it's a great laptop, nice display, and good for what it is. It's not a gaming machine

It is i7 12700H. H means high performance, more powerful then i7 P and i7 U.
That means H cpu eat more battery power.

I think the ASUS laptop offers the best display you can get for $600 or less.

I have a similar ASUS laptop e.g. ASUS OLED screen laptop with 120Hz 0.2ms up to 550 nits.

The screen is impressive.
The high-resolution (2,880-by-1,800pixel) OLED display is the star of the Asus laptop. The panel produces an incredibly crisp and dynamic image with stellar contrast and vibrant colors. It's rated for a substantial 550 nits of brightness, and white levels are pretty bright, while OLED's ability to completely turn off individual pixels results in inky blacks. The colors generated by the screen are accurate and vivid.

I put it alongside my Dell XPS 17 (Dell 9720). My Dell XPS 17 cost more than $1700.
The Asus Zenbook screen is as good as or perhaps better than my Dell XPS 17 screen.

I got the same laptop display model from Costco. Paid $599 for it but Costco crazy 90 days return policy and 2 years warranty.
So far it's great. I love the screen, but it eats battery fast. You can set it to 60hz fixed to reduce battery consumption.
It's quiet for daily use. I don't really use the power of the I7-12700H. Mainly for media consumption.

I just wanted to say that I received the laptop yesterday. It had the original charger brick, manuals, and even the fancy sticker on the top of the laptop. All in all, I'm very pleased and happy with it. Been using it for a day without any issues.
