I am seeing they are like $50 a pair?! Even if the Bosch lasts "Up to 40% longer" than conventional blades, it would make it a terrible value. If one is going to pay like 4x more, it should last 400% longer. Not just "up to 40% longer". There is no way Bosch is lasting far longer to justify the high cost for me.
I can see some people just buying the Bosch wiper blade because of its design and maybe they think it looks cooler than the conventional frame design. I don't care about wiper design.
I can't believe people are taking Amazon reviews seriously in 2023. How can anyone be so naive with everything we know about the legitimacy of Amazon reviews? When put into fakespot, that 4.4 out of 5 for the Ancos equates to 2.5/5 stars using the fakespot adjusted rating (I just checked):
Well since the end of last year to now, there has been rainstorm after rainstorm and my cheap blades fell apart within weeks of use. I bought some AERO blades, 2 sets for $17 (comes out to ~$4 a blade) and they work better than the factory ones. I attached a link (please find sizes that fit your car), and they are a perfect combo of quality and value. Hope yall can stop arguing soon, it really is like clockwork how every sd post dissolves into everyone thinking they know best and smug passive aggressive insults. Do better.
AERO Voyager 26" + 18" Premium All-Season OEM Quality Windshield Wiper Blades with Extra Rubber Refill + 1 Year Warranty (Set of 2) https://a.co/d/iTI8yoC
My biggest issue with this type of wiper is that they are very high profile. In other words, if you are in sports car, the large plastic connectors end up sticking high right in front of you. The reular metal framed wipers seem to be of lower profile. Other than that, I'd get Aero as well.
Very little wonder that they work better than your 10-year old OEM ones.
Read carefully. I said the last decade has been a drought, never once mentioned that I had the same car for this entire decade. I drive a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq that already has had one replacement blade.
And yes, the profile is a bit higher than others, but not noticeable if you drive anything other than a sports car, which is probably 95% of general commuters
This may be one of those over thought purchases.. I spent at least 30 minutes looking at reviews.. and then went down to my basement and found a few wiper blades I had bought on past purchases(slick deals). Had 1 Bosch for some car I must have had a few years ago(really good deal). and 2 random Michelins. My wifes car can use 1 of the Michelins.. so looks like she is getting a $3.98 24inch blade to go on the other side.. will never know the difference.

The OEM wipers would not last 10 years, I was just making a point that "these are better than what they replaced" is usually t be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to wipers, tires, often brake pads, for example. Things like that deteriorate so any new one feels much better for a while. The weird thing is that when it comes to wipers (and car batteries), I find OEM very hard to beat. Just as weird, OEM replacements are never as good as what's being installed at the factory, so I do not buy those.
BTW, Amazon has Hella wipers for just over half the price of Anco 31-series as well. Don't know much about those. My own preference, dealing with 4 cars, has been "buy whatever, replace every year or two". Tried several more expensive models, no better. That includes more exotic stuff like PIAA silicon. Bosch... I personally try to stay as far away from _anything_ Bosch as I can. Based on everything I've tried from spark plugs and wiper blades to batteries in Europe, distributors, larger electric parts for German and Japanese cars. A purely marketing-driven company with prices and "quality" to match, IMHO.
Y'all complain about the little things for wipers ok, and we're talking about wipers, not engine or transmission parts. You don't see these deals every now and then. Maybe at a discount store for $2, and who cares if it streaks after a week if it still wipes off the rain. It still serves its purpose for the rainy season. Seriously, all you need to do is to spray silicone on those wipers or the windshield for better performance, and you're good. Most of y'all are Karens, and have a low IQ when it comes to being a DIY'er or common sense and improvising. SMH.

Jeez..
I've never had any issues with cheap wipers. Hell, I've replaced just the rubber piece on the blades many times before. They work fine if you clean them properly.
Wipers are a pain to deal with? Really? We got a pack of tinder hands on here.
My only issue is how difficult it is to find bulk quality rubber refills now.
The Chinese silicon ones I got off eBay were garbage. If any of you guys know a good source I prefer to just buy the rubber. The brackets are usually fine and it's a big environmental waste to throw them away as garbage unless badly
faded/damaged/rusted.
Happy to take the conversation down even lower for the Bosch crowd.

If possible, it's better to purchase OEM parts which will fit the curve of your windshield better than these generic wiper blades. Sometimes you can purchase just the rubber blade refill, depending on which parts are worn out.
Wiper deals just don't happen for my 26" driver side as that is on sale for $10.66 (retail $14.99). Sold out by the Amazon seller but sold for the $10.66 from 3rd party seller.
As for people who think that there is some huge conspiracy that all those verified buyers are fake, you are in denial and think that you need to pay big bucks for wipers. Justify for your high cost purchase of wipers. I would never pay for the expensive brand wiper. People are aware that one can click a public profile from a reviewer and see all the various reviews (positive and negative). It isn't like there are reviewers just only reviewing Anco wipers. They are legit reviews. 11K reviews are a big enough sample size.
We also have to bring up that lot of users may incorrectly install them, wipe when windshield is dry, wipe when bumpy frozen ice is on the windshield and then blame the wipers for streaking (duh!), leave wipers down while parked overnight during icy freezing snow fall, etc. Lot of reasons where the user is at fault which causes damage to the wipers.
I rain-x my windshield and generally don't bother turning the wipers on at all in the rain, as it isn't necessary. Anybody worried about 'safety' to the point they're spending $40 per wiper should consider using rain-x - keeps your windshield clear and provides great visibility in bad weather.

My dad's been putting rain-x on every one of his cars for 20+ years. It makes a huge difference.
Also, people don't seem to know that you can clean your wiper blades, which will prolong the life and avoid a lot of issues with streaks. Just run a damp shop towel up and down the blade a few times every now and then. You'll see all the accumulated gunk and debri that prevents the blade from getting that perfectly flat connection with the windshield. You should notice an immediate improvement.

Or even better yet use a bit of rubbing alcohol. Will help soften the rubber and remove the oxidation.
This thread makes me feel sad for the future of our world. People that believe any car needs $50 wiper blades are the same ones that need a new $1000+ phone every year. Priorities feel so out of whack for such a huge swath of the population. The world feels doomed.

Last time I was getting new blades for a vehicle of mine, I actually got those hybrid blades. They look like beams but have just as much normal access to the rubber for someone inclined to just replace that piece.
I figured having the plastic shroud across the top would at least protect the rubber more from UV rays, ice etc. They look more premium if someone is into that.
I started just replacing the rubber when I needed new blades on an old 71 Cadillac. Pricey car had custom chrome blade brackets. No way I was paying what those would cost. replaced the rubber blades and just naturally started doing it on other cars.
It's just too bad it isn't easier to find a good source for the rubber. Even some of the auto places that used to carry them stopped.
Why carry this when John E Public just doesn't pay any attention to what they pay for stuff?
Don't worry, the days of Easy Money are going to be over soon. A rude awakening for some folks.
I understand even Apple has been having more resistance to new phone purchases.

I have a 2000 Desert Runner that I drive at best 3k miles per year when I need to do "truck" related jobs. I needed new blades as the others had died to sun rot. I live on the Alabama gulfcoast... went to O'Reilly Autoparts and looked at the ones hanging and was having a tough time spending 35.00 for a set that was going to get 10 hours of use a year at best. Asked the guy at the counter about the cheapest blades... he had rubber inserts in the back for under 14.00 a set... 2yrs later, they are doing fine between wiping them off and using Rain-x.
I get that some of you are OCD about streaks or require the best or latest tech. However, I'm OCD about wasting money.
Even if you had to replace them yearly (10 minute job at best)... that still works out cheaper than 35.00 or more every 2 yrs.
