I bought these about a month ago. They are pretty dry and not very satiating. If it keeps you from eating unhealthy food, I suppose it's still worth it, but they were a let down.

I have used 200 calorie protein bars to satisfy a craving for sweets. That is a lot more calories, but they actually satisfy me while these don't do the trick for me. I'd gladly trade another 50 calories if they had some dark chocolate chips or something to these. They are just mainly air.

The fiber they use in these is identical to the kind in beans, molecularly. So these too, may give you flatulence.

What will give you gas is the Chicory Root Extract and Erythritol. I bought a box of these and ate 3 in 1 sitting....let's just say I wasn't just sitting after that LMAO I threw the rest of the box out.

These bars do not taste good. I don't want to finish my box, considering throwing in trash.

I think these taste pretty good to me. Not trying to be contrarian but they do. They are extremely small and obviously I may sound like an idiot since they are advertised as low-calorie but very unfilling. End up eating like 2-3 of them

I really agree with you on these being dry. I didn't really enjoy them at all, and I've tried many fiber and lower calorie snacks. I still have most of them sitting in my cabinet just because they aren't very satisfying or tasty.

I've been eating these for years, I agree they are very "air" like lol. I like to break them into pieces and put in a non fat yogurt. Tastes pretty good that way. My 4 yr old son loves these bars, he has one once a week in his lunch box every Friday. Also I've never had any digestive problems from these and I'm pretty sensitive to gas issues from weight loss bars.

Quite a few people are sensitive to chicory root extract/inulin specifically. The fiber in beans doesn't phase me but one bar of these and my gastrointestinal tract is having a party.

They're great if you have houseguests who are overstaying their welcome though.

WARNING: these contain the artificial sugar erythritol (2nd highest ingredient on the list) which has been recently linked to the formation of blood clots.

Better to just drink a fiber powder supplement and enjoy real food with real sugar in moderation.

I second this.

I was picking these up from Sam's Club but after reading about the effects of erythritol I stopped. Walmart and Aldi have house brands without erythritol and I think use sugar instead.

The erythritol sweetener tastes good to me but I always think these companies are getting away with too much by using different sweeteners (artificial or natural) to avoid labeling the sugar content - regardless of how your body treats the substituted sweetener.

They should be required to put the amount of sweetener per serving. It might open our eyes to find out we would have ingested 15g sugar in one of these bars but instead they used 150g of erythritol (I don't know how much is used, just throwing that out there).

Counter PSA:
If you have skin or teeth issues or are diabetic, then Erythritol may be better than SUGAR and old sweeteners.
  • Xylitol vs. Erythritol: Which Is the Healthier Sugar Substitute? Sugar alcohols: Despite the name, they contain no alcohol. These sweet alternatives may be helpful for weight loss. They have fewer calories and carbohydrates than sugar. But sugar substitutes aren't necessarily the secret to weight loss.
Sugar alcohols have other health benefits, discussed below. But in some people, they can cause digestive issues. [ https://www.healthline.com/health...of-xylitol ]

I have researched "Xylitol" which is better for me than sugar, sucralose:
  • "Regular use of xylitol causes cavity-forming bacteria to starve and die off by almost 75 percent, according to a study in the Iranian Journal of MicrobiologyTrusted Source. It also increases the flow of saliva and creates a more alkaline environment."
  • "Xylitol may help people achieve more stable blood sugar levels, according to the Journal of Medicinal Food. It doesn't cause as high of a spike in blood glucose, therefore less insulin is required to get glucose into cells and overall helps with sugar control."

Now I learned that Erythritol (which OP has), is similar to Xylitol (better than sugar and teeth bacteria cannot feed off it):
  • Erythritol for oral health: Like other sugar alcohols, erythritol doesn't lead to tooth decay.
  • Erythritol as an antioxidant: Researchers in a study in Nutrition found erythritol to act as a strong antioxidant with a favorable effect on blood vessels.
  • Erythritol for diabetes: A study in Acta DiabetologicaTrusted Source suggested that erythritol might be a preferred sugar substitute for people with diabetes.
So if someone is fearmongering Erythritol over sugar/sucralose, then research why to find out which is best for your body. Obviously Xylitol & Erythritol are newer, thus an older industry would not want you to buy it. But I have been looking for modern sugar replacements, and the thing about bacteria not feeding off them, is what I want.
