Good price - it's been around $13 lately. Nice plugs that can be flashed to Tasmota (soldering required) - supports energy monitoring and independent outlet control/monitoring.

Edit- info for those who want to flash:
https://digiblur.com/2021/03/27/h...l-control/

Tldr you will need:
- Soldering iron/wire/flux
- Triangle bit to open the case (or another bit can be made to work with a grinder)
- USB to TTL serial adapter - Buy a quality one. This one has FTDI chip and some jumper cables you can use for soldering. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BBPX8B8
- Decent soldering skills

After flashing to Tasmota the plug will work 100% locally (but no Wyze control after flashing). You can either control/monitor via the web interface or integrate into something else such as Home Assistant.

I'm thinking of getting a few of these to power/control my wyze cam's (power supplied via attic) so when they hang I can turn them on/off in the same app.
sounds like it time to buy better cameras if you're buying controllable switches just to cycle power on them when they hang LMAO

I'd love to...honestly I've disliked them since they started selling everything under the sun and charging for features that previously were free..show me some with microsd, free 2 week cloud access (grandfathered in) and a similar feature set for less than double the price (I got a couple of 2 pack v3 cam's for $35 each(set of 2 so $17.5 per cam) from home depot not long back) and can be used as both regular cam's AND RTSP at same time using a docker container (wyze bridge).

I haven't seen a security cam yet that didn't benefit from a daily power cycle regardless of the brand (and I've used a few different ones)

If power goes out and comes back on, it'll be ON. Just happened.

Maybe buy a camera? They have an ongoing site sale. The free ship and no sales tax was enjoyable in conjunction with the sale.

Yeah...all the smart switches I've ran across do this...maybe under the assumption you'd have a hard time turning them on in the dark. It's somewhat annoying when it happens in the middle of the night but if you have a voice assistant tied in you just yell out whatever command you use to turn them all off "alexa goodnight" for example.

Is this one of those devices that they try to get you to pay a "choose my own price" monthly payment fee for like with the cameras? I know you can opt out of it and get slightly reduced functionality with the cams but was curious if they are doing that with these things too.

Some crappier smart fixtures that i have will actually lose their programming everytime the power flashes for a moment and defaults them back to the reprogramming mode. For smart lights that's usually a flashing light bulb. It's annoying when you're away on vacation and lose power while gone and check a camera only to see all your lights flashing and there's nothing you can do about it remotely.

I ordered 3 using the code..not sure what to tell you unless they just fixed it.

*update* Code PLEASE requires buying more than 1...I purchased 3 but 2 might work.

Check the power recovery settings in the app. Wyze bulbs have the option to "turn on" or "return to previous state"

I have some that do this a well, like when you use a light switch to turn them on seriously why can't they fade slowly or blink 3 times if they come unpaired (then just work like a normal light bulb). I had 3 on a ceiling fan and it is almost seizure inducing when all three come unpaired flashing out of sync and that is the only light in the room.

Random comment to say I think everyone should buy these for inside the house too if at this price, I had some of the old Wyze indoor plugs that only have one outlet, but having two outlets that are individually configurable only taking up one wall plug makes much more sense in most of my applications.

Great thought! My v3 Pro hangs occasionally and though the power cord is accessible, it is inconvenient to power cycle.
