    If using for ears flexible isn't a bad idea because it could help to avoid hurting your ears.
    That being said I'm very careful with my ears and will not use the plastic ones.
    So for anyone with bad dexterity and lack of finesse the plastic ones may work.

    This! I used a store brand in a crunch. The quality appears the same as Q-tips but the cotton can come off and if it's too far in it will cause problems that just ate t worth saving a few cents.
    For anything else like cleaning keyboards, car trim, removing eye makeup, fine.

    I ordered then cancelled after reading about the issues with quality. My wife uses q-tips and will kill me if it cotton came off and got possibly stuck..dammit!

    EDIT: I will give the 1 pack a try for $2.50 why not

    I had a horrible experience with store brand q-tips years ago and stopped buying anything that wasn't q-tip brand for a very long time. Unfortunately i managed to let our house run out about 2 weeks ago and we were all sick and didn't want to go to the store, so i paid like $12 for a 4 pack of these Amazon Basics ones to be delivered next day. I was pleasantly surprised with them. They are not plastic handles. They feel about 95% the same as the regular q-tip brand in my opinion. Even name brand sometimes has a couple that get a little loose and fluffy when they aren't supposed to. I'm seeing maybe slightly more error rate with these, but otherwise I think they feel and perform the same. I'd buy them again. No complaints, and no quality issues here.
