I just set it up last night for Windows 11. I had to boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager and find the unknown device, then update the driver and select the manually downloaded driver from the Kensington site. It now works great and is very convenient not just for Windows Hello logging in, but also unlocking my BitWarden vault.

I got one of these in the last deal. The unlock is fast and reliable. I didn't have to do anything special to make it work on Windows 10.

Make sure you scan all the different parts of your fingerprint when you set it up. Don't just put the same part of your finger on it repeatedly. That way, if you touch it awkwardly in the future, it will still pick up your print. I always try to make sure I go all the way around the outside edge of the print I am setting up.

It works well for unlocking Bitwarden also, which is much safer than unlocking it with a Pin, and more convenient than typing my master password.

Yup, I had to use the drivers to get it working on Windows 11.

You lucked out. Mine arrived today and wouldn't work with 10 or 11, manual driver or windows update, it just timed out responding to device. Returned it.
I tried for three days to get mine working and FINALLY got it. I changed the length of the timeout, I was deleting registry keys, I was plugging and unplugging, etc. I work from home and just played with this while working, otherwise it's not worth the trouble. I did so many things I can't even say what finally worked outside a few restarts and installing a different driver outside of the device management process. For people who don't have the time, this is not worth the headache.

i got one of these last time but i find its unreliable. 75% of the time it doesn't work. and there is a driver issue or something.

I don't know if it was a windows update or something but mine went from semi reliable to working quickly and consistently without a firmware update.

Ordered 1 at the beginning of the month for $17.76 and it works great. Still have returning windows. Wonder if it's worth it to buy and return to get $2 back. I don't want to drive to Kohl's to return it though. What to do.

The thumbs down behavior on this forum is so bizarre sometimes. I wish you were required to give a reason

Edit: lol

Got this last deal. I could not get this to work on Windows 11 either. Could not get driver to install from the two methods on their site or my own research. Wish I would have seen about the safe mode option. Ended up returning it.

Edit: W11 Pro

Curious if you have Windows Home or Pro?

Pro tip: place this in a USB port on the back of your PC for added convenience.

I bought this last year, spent several hours trying to make it work with windows 10 - no luck. Called support and they told me that with certain releases/versions of windows 10, their product doesn't work. My windows version must be one of those. I returned it.

I bought the arcanite product, it took all but 5 minutes to install and configure. Works flawlessly. I was getting sick of typing in long passwords on my work laptops. This device is awesome.

As a sidebar, I need to figure out if I can use this on my laptop, and pass the sign on credentials to a Virtual Machine I'm trying to sign-on onto.
