And the iron sets I have bought in "Average" condition have been in much better shape than I would have thought. In my experience, they replace noticeably worn grips before sale.
Never understood the reasoning for buying new clubs... Average in most cases are perfectly fine. Generally okay with it as long as there's no chips on the crown.

True. But for an individual club, paying a little more without having to gamble at the condition is worth it in my book.
For the iron sets, that's a different story since it's more than just like $30 bucks more.
