Rural King has the U1L-LT 35AH lawn tractor battery on sale for $24.99. Please note that the positive terminal is on the left when facing the front of the battery. This price includes exchange; bring your old battery to avoid a core charge when purchasing. This is about $5 less than Walmart's best price for a similar U1 battery. Fits many lawn tractors and zero turn mowers, both commercial and residential. Perfect time for this sale as many people are gearing up for mowing season. No shipping available, so this deal will be limited to those in proximity to a Rural King store.

Rural King Supply is a farm supply store based in Mattoon, Illinois, United States. Founded in 1960, it now has 135 stores in the U.S. states of Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Alabama. I'm pretty sure that Walmart is the next best deal. Pre-Covid these were $19.87 at Walmart; I guess those days are long gone...

More locations than I thought. I need to get out more often. Wish the ones that didn't leak were on sale somewhere. I'm assuming they make agm lawn and garden batteries? Mine is covered in acid and needs cleaned up before the next one goes in.

The AGM version starts at about $60. Cleaner and generally longer lasting with proper maintainer charging, but a little pricey by comparison.

With Capital One browser app its got a coupon for $9 off an 3% cashback for a total of $51 before tax. I'd post the coupon, but its super long and I think its one time use. Honestly not sure how capital one works, but the discount is showing in my cart. https://www.ebay.com/itm/38240047...1c326f1c20

If you live near a Menards, they have batteries on sale now. The ones that I bought haven't leaked.

I was going to make a suggestion for a substitution, if you haven't already bought. These batteries are generally overkill for the cranking requirements of most mower engines. My Gravely 24HP Kawasaki twin came from the factory with a 12AH battery (no kidding, 1/3 the size of the U1), which did just fine for several years. I recently installed a 9AH AGM in my Poulan 12HP rider, and it does a great job. If you want to substitute a smaller battery and deal with tie-down requirements, this 14AH AGM on a warehouse deal will probably do the job with power to spare. Pretty nice deal for $30.

Heard about all the deals at Menard's. It would be nice. Think its one state over from Oklahoma. Maybe in Kansas?

I definitely need a Gravely Zero Turn. I have been keeping my eyes out for a good used one, but people are nuts how much they want for a used machine.

The way that people take care of their things anymore, buying new seems like a better choice unless you can find one that's been well cared for with low hours. Mine is approaching 500 hours and has been a real workhorse. It's a ZT HD60. They go new for about $5500 these days with the Kawasaki powerplant. Worth every penny if you have acreage.

I'm in Missouri. Think Menards is based in the upper Midwest but has been branching out in the past ten years.

Given the amount of acid that you're suggesting, you may want to check the end of the battery cable for corrosion, especially inside the cable. I've replaced batteries and later found that the real problem was the cable itself.
