I would not recommend walmart+. Seems like about 75% of the items I want they either won't ship or require a scheduled delivery (which usually either requires or strongly requests a tip). I honestly find myself hardly ever using walmart+ because of this caveat. I'll be discontinuing my service next go-round if that doesn't change. Feel like it was a bait and switch when they promised free shipping and then it turned out it was only on select items.

Not sure but I always find Walmart a bit wonky.

I don't have the + account and I wanted to order an $1 item for pickup. It was not available but free delivery was available. They had someone drive from a neighboring Walmart just to deliver me a $1 item. Not that I'm complaining. I think the gas and time of the employee exceeds that $1 item. Lol

I had the same situation. I ordered a package of MnM's, and a car pulled up and they left the little bag next to my door.

Overall I like it better than Prime. I get my items faster and sometime within an hour. and I don't even subscribe to their service. Oh, and no crushed bags of chips like Amazon sends me. For some reason Amazon likes to package chips and crackers in the same box as canned soup.

If Walmart Plus had an option to pay a little more for Paramount with no ads, I'd subscribe today.

Only reason I cancelled my W+ was tipping the driver option feels like its been forced on you while Amazon does not have that. I rather drive 2 miles and get my groceries but hate checkout.

Do you'll really tip driver for every trip?

American Express cards tend to have them, not sure if any are currently active though.
AFAIK, only Amex Platinum has it, but for $695/yr AF you'll need to be maxing the other benefits to make it worthwhile!

I don't know what walmart app you guys have, but there's no tip option for my purchases that I know of and most stuff is delivered in 1-2 days max. If you live in/near a big city Amazon Prime delivery is great; if you don't, Amazon Prime has become "we'll ship it when we get around to it". In my area, Prime delivery is now between 4 and 10 days, and I have a friend in Ithaca who is experiencing the same (lack of) promptness. OTOH, friend in Pittsburgh gets stuff same/next day all the time.

They are normal Instacart drivers not Walmart employees. that's the difference.

They pick up the order at the pickup area just like you would do it yourself. I never went past the trial period back in 2020 and started doing it myself to save the tip. It was quicker to just do it myself, too.

someone told me walmart+ has a points system, where they get basically a "cashback" feature. If this is true how much does it equate to? how much would one need to spend a month/year to make + "free"

Crazy they would charge as much as Prime while being less useful.

Shipping takes 3-4 days and many small items are pickup only. Defeats the purpose of no minimum shipping

Anything else you can pricematch
Blashphemy

I have saved so much time/fuel on groceries from this service at the cost of a $5 tip to the driver. I probably save $ too because we're not in the store to make those impulse purchases.

I speak as the dad of a family of 4 and it may not be for everyone, but our grocery shopping time has been cut from 8+ hours a month to less than 2. I view the benefits like having a dishwasher or snowblower.

I tip $5 each time whether I'm buying $40 in groceries or $140 in groceries. Since it takes 8 minutes to drive to the store and another 8 driving home, not to mention fuel, etc, it's an absolute no brainer for me.

I understand that you wanted to cancel your membership with us, and I totally respect your decision regarding on this one. Since you are a very valued customer, just to make sure you enjoy the benefits of the membership like, early access where you can access the deal first hand before it goes to general sale, scan and go, where you will experience the contact free checkout without the hassle of falling in line at the store and a lot more, is it okay if I extend your membership for another 180 days or 6 months for FREE instead of cancelling your service?

in most locations walmart will do grocery delivery and has real 3 day shipping where amazon takes a week.

unforunately where I live, no delivery.
This really depends on where you live. Here in the Chicago are, Amazon is 2 day every single time. I can't remember the last time they were late.

I don't use "+", but Walmart delivers items to me in 1-2 days. Much faster than Amazon. I use store pickup for grocery items. As long as I meet the $35 threshold for the grocery order, any delivery-only items are delivered for free.

How does Walmart+ compare to Amazon Prime?
Prime > but get both. Walmart is better on food.
