I've had a different version for over 5 years now in great condition. I keep it covered with a BBQ cover and its in TX so YMMV in North climates with harsher weather.

This exactly. My starter broke at year 2... NBD but the gas lines inside the grill gave in at year 4.

... maybe I'm doing it wrong but 4 years is exactly right for me.

Yup, starter dead at year 2. Pins on the rails give within a year. Gas lines are pretty bad already at year 2. These things are disposable. Anybody have any experience with warranty / service on these things?

Never had a problem with the starter on this. But leave it uncovered year round as I assumed it would be disposable. We got a little more out of the guts, probably 5 years, but a full replacement set was under $50 from Amazon and works as good as new. The new parts did take some minor modifications to install as they are cheap chinese universal parts. But whatever, worth it to not spend $1000 on a grill.

Right I'm okay with 4 years too. $250 price range for 4 years vs $750 price range for 10-12 years seems perfectly fair

Anyone buying this from Kohls would use a 30% off coupon, which would bring the price down to $350 and you would also earn $70 in Kohls cash. That makes the effective price very close to this "deal".

This is a decent price, but nothing amazing. It's the typical sale price for this type of grill.

The cover may work great in your Texas climate. I learned in Florida that if you use a cover and leave it on too long, the whole thing will grow mold.

4 years in NYS. Replaced starter at yr 2, grates and burner hoods at yr 3, and now at yr 4 the burners are fully rusted through, grates are adding lots of iron to my meats, and the grease pan has all but decayed due to entropy.

I'm considering a Nexgrill Model #: 720-0830X

It's obv $100 more but with the body / grates made of stainless steel it may last 6-7 years I imagine?

Anyone have any opinions on the trade up?
