With that said, picture quality is excellent, other than some minor blooming on some high brightness images (IE: a white circle on a black background) and mediocre upscaling.
Plan on using an AppleTV or NVIDIA Shield with it for the best experience.
I have mine hooked to my PC. No better way to watch content than that..Playstation 5 would also work great to use for content. Whatever way you cut it for $500 you will be sure to regret it for the next year if you're on the fence.
LG has been the only TV software that's been decent, but they're all mediocre at best. I spent around $1000 for my OLED and it's got great sharpness and contrast, it's just not nearly as bright.
Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

It's still a fantastic TV when it works alright, just a big annoyance rebooting so many times. Especially when you have a toddler screaming to watch TV.
So it's an OS deep crash. I think from Vizio updating the TVs so many times.
I would still buy another in a heartbeat especially at a great price. And the Costco warranty helps (mine started crashing after the Costco warranty).
Snarky? Really? I feel it was informative and realistic.
I also have an old P-Series that I was using up to yesterday when I replaced it. With my old TV there may have been times I have to choose reboot from the settings menu but it was a quick and simple fix for a unit that worked great for 16 hours a day on all the time and still looked like new, I feel that was worth the small inconvenience of a 3 second reboot once or twice a month.
Like you said you would buy this in a heartbeat based on how well it worked even with your issues you had with your old P-Series.
Good luck.
In short, use the money you save to buy a roku and a soundbar
