Save yourself some more money by installing an inline water filter which is a filter put in between the refrigerator and the water outlet for the refrigerator. This filter removes the need for a filter inside your refrigerator.
To do this:
1. Call the manufacturer of your refrigerator and ask them to send you a "bypass filter". Many manufacturers will send this free of charge. GE certainly is free as I did this with them a couple of months ago
2. Purchase an "inline water filter". Example the 5 year ecopure filter is $30 on amz. You can also buy these from big box stores.
3. Watch a you tube video on installing the filter. It's basically turn off the water supply for the refrigerator, cut the water line with a sharp knife, and push in the water line into either end of the in line filter (purge the filter before connecting the second line). I did this on Sunday and it took me 10 mins start to finish.
I hope this saves you all some money for the next 5 years!

Bought some of EBay last time this came up. It was a 4pk for $50. They were fake so lesson learned. Seller gave me my money back immediately when I accused them of selling counterfeit goods.

Thanks for this! I'm gonna try this on my new samsung refrigerator. I was doing research about the bypass filter and read that a lot of the newer refrigerators have the bypass feature built in when no filter is installed inside.
I bought some on Amazon of a different brand (generic) and they've done fine. Anybody have experience with both and think this price is worth it somehow?
I had planned to do external filter but bought 4 last deal and at this price think not worth it (external filter that is), however if Filter only last 1-3mo vs 6mo then may reconsider. Idk how fridge (samsung bespoke) keeps track. Just time, flow meter, pressure loss? Assume not fancy so maybe just need to do TDS test...have very hard water but honestly once cold tastes fine. So while had been using Kirkland filter jug I mostly drink seltzer which I make with unfiltered water and have 20lb co2 hooked to soda stream. Tastes fine. But wanted to make ice, so hooked up fridge to water last week. Initially was only going to use for ice but now also using auto fill water as said at this price not bad and saves room in fridge. And when posted before was told these last 6mo. May just buy another 4 pack at this price and be set for at least couple years...

I just bought my Samsung Bespoke fridge a few weeks ago. Thought about buying a few of these but they have really bad reviews on all other websites.I'm wondering if they're defective or people just don't know how to install them right. A lot of reviews say they leak. Samsung website has them on sale too for around $70/4 pack.

Do you know for bespoke if it turns on the by pass valve automatically by removing the filter ?
