cool dude I got my S22+ for 40 bucks doesn't mean you just take whatever deal you had and apply to everyone
otherwise just get a last gen flagship on a nice offer still applies here.... don't waste money on a mid range when you can get a rando Tmobile flagship in exchange of a bag of chips somewhere
Ummm. I am laughing at how you think people on slickdeals are paying full msrp on phones. Who does that? You maybe. Not me or many slickdealers. This is slickdeals where very popular deals matter. The entire point of slickdeals is about value. I actually showed you proof with the link of the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G deal. I can show you proof of the popular pixel 3a deal, moto z2 force $99 deal, pixel 6a deal with bonus pixel buds, etc.
I showed you proof. Now you show me PROOF of your brand new unlocked Samsung Galaxy S22+ for "$40 deal". Nice to show your link deal proof so people don't just make up ridiculous bogus lies. Let me guess. Only you got the $40 deal and the Samsung Galaxy S22+ was never ever posted on slickdeals. Haha. If you trade in an expensive phone and pay $40, it doesn't mean the cost was only $40. I always get a kick when people think they got a phone for whatever but then they leave out what phone that they traded in. Just like people who say that they got free phone but are stuck with paying huge monthly carrier service fees. Phone cost is pretty much passed to the very expensive service fees.
I recently turned my A71 5g back on after about a year of not touching it. That phone feels extremely slow coming from a P6P and P7.
Maybe I will do a side by side test between my samsung galaxy a71 5g vs pixel 6a to get a better performance comparison feel. I like them both but I already know where its advantages are. I am currently typing on my Samsung Galaxy s6 lite tablet and that is performing great and that is running a lesser processor (Exynos 9611) so I would think the Samsung Galaxy a71 5g's snapdragon 765G would be better. The snapdragon 765g got rave reviews with it pixel phones as well. Pixel 6a is a performance beast with tensor but I was very happy with samsung galaxy a71 5g performance and I am happy with my samsung galaxy s6 lite tablet performance.
*** I just did a side by side test between my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G (2020) with the Snapdragon 765G vs Pixel 6a with the Tensor. I opened like 12 apps and kept them open and opened chrome with like 7 tabs open. The Pixel and Samsung were almost opening at identical speeds or the Pixel opening a fraction of a second quicker. Some websites were even opening quicker with the Samsung but both were very fast. I even use the Pixel camera app on the Samsung and that opened same exact speed. Of course the Pixel camera is better. I opened various games that I play rarely and they opened similar speeds except for 1945 Air Force where the Pixel opened very quickly and the Samsung took like 8 seconds longer. With my other games, they were almost exact same speed. I updated the 1945 Air Force and closed other apps and it still took like 8 seconds longer. When I play 1945 Air Force with the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, there is no lag at all and it plays it awesomely. The bigger screen and better quality screen is better than the smaller Pixel 6a screen. If I am going to game, I do prefer my Samsung (bigger and better screen) even though the Pixel 6a has the more powerful processor. I can see a smidge difference here and there but I am talking about a fraction of a second or 1 second except for opening 1948 Air Force. I opened Bowling King game and the play was pretty much identical. Youtube app pretty much identical in speed. At the end of the day with real world use, there isn't a huge difference where I can tell a performance difference except for a fraction of second longer waiting for an app to open. I was actually quite surprised how well the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G went head to head with the Pixel. It performed better than I initially expected before I did the head to head comparison.
Question on the "cracked" device trade-in. Has anybody traded in a device with a device with a failed screen? The back glass has a crack and the screen isn't cracked but doesn't display anything. The phone does boot fine and can be used with Samsung Dex mode fully functional.
Yes and pretty generous too. The other way typically says other brands are only good for recycling.
To each their own. BTW none of the secondary markets for these phones reinforce any of your opinions. IMO the locked bootloaders of old Samsung phones make them them pointless to keep around as spare unlocked phones. Pixels easily run custom roms & @ least iphones will run the ecosystem even when they become too old to support. Anyhow, have a good one.

Like for like, right? Look it up and see how much Apple is willing to give for trade in. Samsung trade in is not exactly a secondary market, is it?

Here's my last take on this.
I don't read any TIVs from any manufacturer as an actual secondary market (i.e. Samsung w/ their $650 TIV for cracked Tab S7+ for their Tab 8 Ultras)
Instead just go on a true secondary market such as ebay or backmarket. See any S10s actually selling for $190 or any Pixel 6 pros for $173?
Seems the major problem for this phone is that it's price is comparable to the Pixel 7 which has a better camera and much faster processor.
I would compare the Samsung Galaxy A54 with the Pixel 6a or future 7a.
I would compare the Samsung Galaxy S23 with the Pixel 7.
As their MSRP are more similar priced. For me I thought about the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Pixel 7 deals that were pretty solid recently but I just decided to wait another year or even 2 year so I can get a better upgrade feel rather than upgrade after like 1 year. I really would prefer the Samsung Galaxy S23+ as I have a Galaxy Watch 3 gathering dust now but it is way too much. I will wait.

This best buy Samsung galaxy s22+ deal for $750 was the most popular. Not exactly $40 deal.
