A motorola is great if you don't care for updates. Samsung tends to keep their word on promised updates. Motorola is the opposite of that.

They both keep their word on updates. The A54 is a joke at $450. For $250 the Stylus 2022 has some amazing specs.

Lol you say that like it's a fact. Please fact check before saying things like that. Support forums for motorola/lenovo full of ppl getting shafted from "promised" updates. I'll help you get started on two of the products I own: motorola one 5g and lenovo yoga tab 13.

Thankfully there was enough of an uproar so they backtracked on the backtracking. We still dont have the actual update yet, so we'll see if we actually get it.

MOTO promises one Android update for the G series and that's what they provide. Otherwise they would be sued.

go read the forums. Hard to keep arguing with someone who refuses to check forums for the experience from ppl. Motorola/lenovo does not keep all of their update promises. The motorola one 5g is not a "g" series phone. It was one of their higher end model several years ago. The yoga tab 13 was their flagship android tablet that was msrp $700+ when released.

Stop arguing on what it SHOULD be and look at the experience that people are actually having. Buy what you like, I just don't like it when people are misinformed

Lol its not worth the time or money. Be real. No one has the time or resources to throw away. I'm not wasting time on forums. I'm referencing the forums to show you that they are breaking their promises. Stop throwing out red herrings.

Look, I really don't care how people spend their money. I'm just trying to help people understand what they may possibly be getting into when they buy a motorola/lenovo product. You seem to have some kind of bias and that's fine. But please don't discount real experiences that many people are having.

Thank you for the reply and information. One would hope the newer phone would be safer but one never really knows. Still glad I saw the security bulletin before purchasing an A53. Having a phone vulnerable at the hardware level is about the worst thing ever. Was surprised when certian Google Pixel models were included the bulletin. At least my older device is secure. For now at least.

You can get a class action lawsuit going and they will end up paying millions of dollars in penalties. Any lawyer worth his salt will take the case on contigency , no payment required.

I've really liked moto phones, but I agree that they don't update like I want, that's why I have a Samsung A53 now

Samsung put the same battery as the s23 ultra in this particular unit. That type of battery life in quarter of price of the ultra

I don't care about Motorola's update history. I strongly prefer the stock Android ROM Motorola uses over Samsung's laggy UI. Not to mention this new chipset is a marginal improvement over their latest one - it will likely be outperformed by the chipset used on the now 2 year old Galaxy A52s
