I've been growing fruit and vegetables from seed for years now Depending on your location and the crop in question, the optimal time to sow seeds for this growing season was a month or two ago. In my area you can buy seed packs at the $1.25 tree, ace hardware for 20 or 25 cents a pack, and Menard's (the regional version of Lowe's or Home Depot) regularly sells seed packets for around 10 cents each. Walmart will also put seed packets on sale for about 20 cents each at the beginning of Spring. There are also several online options with decent pricing, especially when you can catch a good promotion. This is a far stretch from what I would consider a slick deal, even assuming that each packet has a decent amount of seeds, and per the reviews each packet averages only about 60 seeds. Even Dollar tree seeds typically give you more per packet than that.

Likely true but you are comparing apples and bananas. Heirloom vs hybrid. Whether or not that is worth more is a subjective opinion and useless as an argument or comparitor.
But, hey, you sound really smart so your post worked

LOL now that you referenced hybrid vs. heirloom, the cheaper seeds usually available locally are also heirloom varieties. Actually, they are the exact same type and variety as the ones in this Amazon 'deal' for the most part, such as:
Contender Bean
Detroit Dark Red Beet
California Wonder Bell Pepper
Waltham 29 Broccoli
Straight Eight Cucumber
Blue Scotch Kale
Black Beauty Zucchini
Fordhook Swiss Chard
Bloomsdale Spinach
Paris Island Lettuce

I love to garden and have to take a hard pass on these, for the price.
Generic heirloom seeds are easily available cheaper from Lowes for a buck, and Dollar General yesterday had the packs .25 each.

Walmart has a selection of common seeds for about 20 cents per packet too.
