I have this and it's not very powerful. IT works to pick drywall dust off the floor or sawdust but that's about it. It's not strong enough the clean my car or any upholstery or carpet where the dirt sticks to it.
Vacum itself is only $34, if you have battery/charger.
I bought a pack of coffee filters and hold it on with a rubberband. Works great and haven't really noticed a lack of suction. Much easier to just throw the coffee filter away than wash the built in screen all the time.

I got the older version for 15 bucks on the usual refurb site. It's so weak it's hard to vacuum bread crumbs ona tile / grout floor. It sure is loud though.
Is the new version quieter than the old version? We have three of the old version, bought them for $20 each for when they were little. We didn't realize they were like 55db each!

I know it's probably not a fair comparison but does anyone know which vacuum does better between this Ryobi vs a tineco c2 used as a portable vacuum?

I own this and the filters have been out of stock at home depot and the ryobi website for over a half year at this point.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ryobi/co...or_pcl705/ << someone seems to have had the same issue on reddit.

They just don't exist and if you wanted the HEPA filtration, well your filter isn't washable so it sucks that you can't get a replacement.

I have this and use it often around the house for quick spills. It's great for what it is.
Spills? It's specifically not for liquids, only dry.

The Evercharge P714 is great.
We have had it for at least 5 years now and use it multiple times a day.
It is very powerful. We use it to sweep up crumbs, dirt, leaves, etc. that our kids constantly drop on the wood floors, carpet, rugs, couches, etc. It's very loud... but I will take that for the suction power.
Replacement filters are cheap on amazon.

I am curious about this new model in this thread...

Coffee grounds, flour, etc. I don't use mine for liquids either.

The Evercharge model (where the vacuum itself can charge the battery instead of needing a separate charger) is also on sale for ten bucks more:

They do make a handheld wet/dry vac, if anyone wants one:

None of "dustbuster" style vacuums are worth buying. If you want to vacuum anything, the minimum you should buy is the 3 gallon toolbox style vacuum. That thing is great.
I agree wholeheartedly with the above. Buy the 3 gallon one, or maybe put this 60 bucks toward a cordless Dyson (on a slickdeal of course) for the house that will rock at cleaning your car too.

Bought this a few months ago, regret it. Makes a ton of noise but barely picks anything up. Constantly drops things back out when you turn it off. Filter clogs up quick.
