I hit Google and it does look like these generally go for $3.69 (Ace Hardware) to $3.99 (Kroger). Walmart also has them for $3.88.

Yeah, normally $8 where? CCC shows that $3.88 is the highest price it's been at Amazon since about July 2021.

Yep...fake marketing....jack up the prices and then give a big discount to show that customer is getting a big discount ....cheats !! NOT A DEAL !!!

Except there's been no jacking up of price or discount offered. It's just the going price. The same everyday price. No fake marketing or smoke and mirrors. Just a head scratcher of a post.
