For me, insta 360 go 2 just didn't offer enough record/battery time despite undoing the limit and using a cooling mod. It definitely has its place due to small size, but small battery and overheating within 10-15min was just really annoying. It doesn't help that it died on me without reason after 1 year of usage. It worked fine until November, and I didn't charge it over the winter (I do racing/driving pov so not much usage during winter) and it suddenly died when I checked on it during March.
Action 2 offers about 20-30 minute of record time without module (With modules battery effectively doubles) and video quality is comparable to GoPro 7. Camera does get very hot, more than GoPro 11 Mini which also gets hot.
Of course, video quality is worse than GoPro 11 Mini and 11 mini does have much better recording time than action 2 without modules attached. But it's at least 50usd more expensive and gopros are kind of unreliable in terms of software. Both of my DJIs didn't have any software glitches/issues during 2.5, 1 year of ownership while every single GoPro I've owned managed to piss me off.
Also usability wise, mini 11 just sucks. No screen means you have to use app to change video settings like exposure and all. Mini 11 has much better DR (aka light spectrum? You see more color and more dark and bright areas) so it's less of concern but I think average user would find action 2 much more user friendly due to touch screen.
Only concern is downloading DJI app and it's kinda sketchy because you have to download it from their website but you can always skip that and just get USB cable hooked up to your PC or Mac.
However, unless you need a smaller camera (like myself, I have camera between my eyes), GoPro 9 or Action 1/3 would be a better option. Those handle heat much better and removable battery is huge plus.
