It's a controller. If it works, it works. Most modern controllers aren't really better than ones from 2007.

In short, no, not always (at least not to change the labeling.)

You can change the button mappings via a downloadable tool from 8bitDo's website (requires a Windows PC or Mac.)

Honestly, I think there are better wired controllers for Switch, some even by 8BitDo themselves. This is good for PC/Xbox.

You can get into the system settings and swap buttons around for the Pro Controller, as well as 3rd-party controllers that present to the console as "Pro Controller". It's clunky but can be done.

Agreed, I've dumped enough money into official Xbox One and Series controllers and they always have buttons stick or worse after like 6 months. After about 4 of them in different styles I'm convinced it's just poor manufacturing. First party don't mean what it used to, eh?
