Fun fact... Nintendo did not reverse the placement of these buttons.

It's a controller. If it works, it works. Most modern controllers aren't really better than ones from 2007.

Fantastic deal! I would not recommend this controller for Switch though. Nintendo reverses their buttons B, A and Y, X instead of A, B and X, Y. This may be confusing w in-game prompts.

Using this button layout controller on Switch, "Press A to continue" would really be the B button on this controller.

Upgrade to an Xbox Series controller. You can usually find them for like $40, sometimes less.

Heard that the old controllers are much better quality. I have two xbox 360 controllers that are still working great after over 5 years.

Never understood backwards capability in game consoles and Steam Deck. No one actually goes back and plays old games. Every one is focus on current gen games. For that reason, I see no reason to own a Steam Deck.

If you aren't trolling, I guess I will let you know. The retro gaming scene is HUGE. Check eBay, Whatnot, Reddit, Youtube or many other popular platforms and see what you are missing.

I'm literally loading PSP roms onto my Steam Deck right now. I have an original PSP but the 4 inch screen is too small, it's perfect on the Steam Deck

I have a couple of the 8bitdo pro 2 wired controllers and love them. They are the older design that are more like playstation controllers.

Now these 8bitdo ultimate controllers come in two flavors. Either switch or Xbox.

The switch version looks like it works with windows, switch, and Android. It can be used in X input mode, Direct input mode, or Switch mode. That may alter the A/B orientation, but if they're like the pro 2 wired controllers you can swap those buttons with a button combination I don't currently recall.

The Xbox version only works on Xbox and windows. It does have a headset port which is nice.

Any other Dpad is an upgrade over the 360 controller IMO, but if you already got used to the 360 Dpad than your mileage may vary of course. Also once you get used to programmable paddles, its hard to go back especially for games like Elden Ring which have ergonomically awkward control schemes.

Maybe he was able to break the d pad in. I heard it takes around 17 years.
