I've been keeping an eye out for a spotlight from Ridgid, I really only want the light. I'm not sure if this is "hackable" . I could always try to sell the batteries separately. Either way at this price there is at least a $60 savings vs buying these items separately.

Tool only is $99

I have the old version and it is a really bright light and floods a room well. Already owning ridgid batteries it seemed like a good deal on a product I needed and Im happy with the choice. If I just needed a light and had no ridgid batteries then I definitely think there are better options for 3 figures.

My question is, has anyone used both the old and new lights and care to compare?

i've read online that the old version was a more cool white color and a bit brighter but i don't own either so i can't verify that.

With how the battery and charger combo are regularly priced at $99 I would say more like a $30 light.

Hackables are 2 separate items in cart, both discounted proportionally.

Thank you for that concise explanation (repped)! I added it to cart and only see one item, so it appears to not be hackable.

This light is always overpriced. I would love to have one, but the price is bonkers. Thanks for the post though, somebody just getting started with ridgid may find value in this if they don't already have several batteries like the rest of us laugh out loud

This light is crazy bright, it throws light really far. Used it mostly camping so far. Make sure not to look into it on high setting. This a great price for all. Considering getting a second as I could use more batteries

I have 5 ridgid lights this is the brightest by far. What version are you speaking of?

I have two of these Ridgid lights. People are exaggerating about their brightness. They are not any brighter than my small tactical flashlights. They also consume batteries really fast. I don't use mine very often.

I have both Old and the New. Old one is more cool white light vs New is yellowish light. I guess it's easier on the eyes. However, the New has more lumens and brighter than the Old with more LEDs. Old had infinite brightness adjustment with the dial, but New has three setting, high, mid, and low. No more dials and pressing the button will change the brightness. To be honest not that much of a difference. The three panel ones got a much better upgrade, but not much on these.

I thought these were Reese's branded power tools for a second.

Also, out of the 5 Ridgid lights I own this one on the High setting will burn through batteries the quickest. If you need a bright focused (beam) long distance light than this light is for you, I run it on the lowest setting and it is plenty bright enough for any situation. I don't mean to dissuade away from this light but if you are looking for more of a task light I would recommend the LED Stick light. That light also has 3 settings, can fold, twist, hang from it's own hook, and lasts forever in comparison. Hope this helps!
