Just so people know, this is 24 inches deep. Works as a workbench or a desk, but 30 inches for a desk is really ideal. 30" lets you move your keyboard and write some notes down, or tinker with something on the desk.
I've built 2 desks that are 32" deep using solid core doors from these big box stores. I think 24" would be a good size if you're willing to mount your computer monitors on the wall, or on an arm connected to the desk, but otherwise I agree because monitor stands are so large
This doesnt come with hardware (which I assume amounts to 4 bolts) and is unfinished but is slightly larger and $5 cheaper at its regular price: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampt.../319764508

Also, this is made of rubber wood for those wanting to know. I went with acacia for my desk based on durability and more natural looking and feel. But if I hadn't gotten a deal on my acacia butcher block, I would've gone for this deal!

Agree. Seems very tough to find a reasonable 60 - 72" width x 30" desk top

Recommend waiting and watching this to go on sale: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../301810799

Same top and the lift (hand crank) and leg support mechanism is top notch.

Unfinished butcher block countertop is basically the same size for $109, they're also made of better wood.
Would you happen to have a link to one of those?

Thanks

I'm torn on this. I don't mind the width so much as the fact that some reviews say it cracks using it as a desk. Which is concerning since thats what I'll be doing with it. Anyone used this before?
The type of wood used is rubber wood and it isn't the strongest so cracking may happen if not being careful when drilling/screwing. I personally went with acacia (one of the strongest) and I was able to mount my standing frame, surge protector, and mesh net while not damaging the wood at all. But I personally think the biggest issue is delivery for any type of desk topโ€ฆthe first acacia butcher block I bought was cracked and had dents, and the replacement had a chipped corner and small dents. You'll be super lucky to receive any desk top in perfect condition, unless it's thicker (I've seen less damage on those in store).

OP, in the description it states, "Replacement wood top for the Husky 6 ft. solid wood top workbench". This makes it sound like this is just for the tabletop and not the support legs. If so, may want to specifically not this is doesn't include the leg support as noted in your third picture. Even HD's assembly instructions on the product page has it listed with legs support. A little confusing..

I use these exact desks as an esports competitor. Trust me, if it works for me it should work for most people. Deeper would be nicer, but I actually like the depth.

That being said 10000% agree you will need to mount the computer monitors so that the base is not in the way. Otherwise this wouldn't work.

Sure I'm not sure I can share Amazon links here but they have little wobble on my desk when I'm standing but only when I'm putting lots of weight on my arms. Im not sure you'll be able to avoid complete wobble with the nature of the wheels at height. I even got the locking ones but it doesn't make a difference for the wobble in my experience.

The wheels are AAGUT 2"Wheel-(M8 x 25mm). Message me if you want a link to Amazon but I'd think that'll find them.

Do yours have brakes for the swivel like this set I'm looking at? A lot of similar casters I'm seeing on Amazon only lock at the wheels and I'm wondering if that extra braking would take away the wobble.

i was thinking of doing this. is 24" depth enough for that?
It worked well for me on one with top-load where I have it set back a bit from the appliances a bit so the lid can still open. My front loads are 24" deep without hoses, so I'm going to do it on those too, and box in the hoses at the back of it.

Not exactly the same top... 72" != 62"

Edit: NM, there is a 72" option on the product page... this link leads to the 62" version though

If you have time, I just get dining tables on the cheap/free on FB marketplace And refinish those. Good feeling of getting something done and to your taste. Come with legs too.

I gotta assume he's talking about this one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampt.../319764508

There's a few out there with a similar price. I searched for butcher block and put a price range of $100-$150: https://www.homedepot.com/b/Kitch...2l3?NCNI-5
