Come on. Do not add pre-conditions to earn more. We are talking about no pre-conditions to earn 2% cash back on everything purchase and you just can't find the card to earn more. If you like conditions such as annual fee, member to open a bank account etc, that is a different thing. People may not like those conditions.

You can try the evergreen visa that provides you with the pre-qualified test and has the same benefits as the Wells Fargo does. I have no idea how difficult to get the Wells Fargo Active Cash credit card but one cannot get this card if has applied for the other Wells Fargo credit card within 6 months.
Just pay the bill and get a personal loan, the least they offer and ues it to pay it back. That way you only come out of pocket for the interest. Set up auto pay and you never have to worry about missing a payment.
Example: open a separate account specifically for the loan. Say you get approved fr $300 and interest is $100. Deposit $150 so your balance is$450, and at the end of the term, you'll have $50 if you never touch it again. But you want to build that balance up and repeat the process. Your score will go up, and it allows you to handle other debt

I like WF cards as when you do $2/mo purchases at wallyworld-they waive it.
Super simple @ self checkout to split transaction

I have this card and I just spend all $500 on utility bills (gas & electric) in one shot, they will then work off that credit on there end, I will get my $200 right away and then I can cancel the credit card and move onto the next c.c. Deal.

Is there no penalty for closing that soon?

Nope -- just pay the minimum amount due each statement

Card has 0% APR for 12mo so you won't be charged interest -- pay off your balance within 12mo

Bonus is paid when statement generates after you hit $500 spend

Y'all had me nervous, but I applied and got $15K. My credit is very good, so I would've been aggravated if I hadn't been approved, but it was the best card for me right now, so I went ahead and tried.

Just wanted to post to let others know. Don't know why so many claiming very good or excellent Credit Scores are being denied, according to this thread...

Thanks!

Costco does not accept Master Card for some reason. So having a VISA credit card is good idea.

Yeah, I don't get the need to thread crap or bash people, as seems the norm on SD these days, but I have to agree with the sentiment, somewhat. If you don't have the money to pay off the delinquent bill, how is a credit card going to anything but give you another bill? Also, a lot of utility and home-related bills require a debit card or bank transfer, from what I've experienced.

But why cancel this card? For every spend that you make that's not involved in another CC bonus deal, you'll get 2% back without having to shuffle cards around or keep track of bonus categories. Plus there's no annual fee and if you pay your cell phone bill with it, you'll get $600 worth of phone insurance.

I use this card for all purchases in between racking up bonuses for other cards and since I already have most of those other bonuses, I use it a lot.

The best card with sign up bonus as well as evergreen visa by fnbo.
Good 2% cashback, but no travel insurance for cancellation due to illness. Cards such as Chase Freedom, CapitalOne Venture offer travel insurance.

I have an Alliant acct and Citi dbl cash. Can you tell me why you switched ? Citi is my daily as well for non-travel/food/gas
Citi stopped all travel benefits. They also don't give the second 1% until you pay. WF gives travel protection, as well as cell phone loss/damage protection. It pairs well with the WF Autograph, which has 3% back on restaurants, gas, travel, streaming, and cell plans, also with no fee. You can get unlimited 3% back for a year with Discover Miles, which doubles the 1.5% rewards for the first year.
