The Pro is obviously faster but I never have ran into memory issues with the Mini even running lots of Chrome tabs and Office apps.
But that is a $3000 machine vs a $600 machine. Designed for different uses.
Those with issues about 8 gig of RAM in a $500 Mac Mini should just pony up a few hundred dollars for the 16 gig version. Does Apple charge more than a "stick" of RAM would cost ot add to a Windows machine? Of course. But the Mac overhead is lower and 8 gig is perfectly fine for most people,
4k 240hz. Must have for daily workflow and production.

Like all applw people who go from old crappy junky cheap windows machine to apple... Like had you spent the same on windows, would you have the same experience or is the clout of the fruit just what it is?
Glad you are happy, just always boggle my mind when people give a reason that does not compute with me...
Ultimately we buy what we want. I am device agnostic, so I just all with no loyalty...
I'm a tech teacher with a lab full of base M1 airs. My students run Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and multiple web browsers without issue.
These are groundbreaking machines. If you want to edit a movie or run a business, just upgrade and quit your whining, ohh this $500 dollar computer doesn't have as much Ram as my Piece of junk PC.
Sorry…. End rant .
Of course, what matters most is whether it's enough RAM for you. Unless you're more interested writing comments like the one I'm replying to than actually buying a computer.
Personally, I bought mine with 16 gb of RAM since I could (theoretically) need more than 8 gb for making music. I've had issues with the Mac mini (look up the issues with 4k screens and flickering), but not because of the RAM.
