I absolutely love building PCs, just built a sick 13600k/7900xt/tempest compact rig. I also know you are here to help people make the most of their money and I agree the system you spec'd is fantastic, possibly exactly what I would build at this price point. But I don't think it is realistic to tell people they "might as well" build their own system from scrach if they are looking for a prebuilt. I used to tell people it is like legos and not that hard but there is legit problem solving/technical knowledge needed to build and it isn't always as easy as watching a video and knocking it out.

For example, Thermal past application and CPU cooler install is actually pretty imposing, a youtube video will help a lot but there is a real risk of bent pins and performance risk of improper installation. Will most people be fine? Yep, but is there real risk to someone who just wanted a $1,600 system? Absolutely, especially for a first time ever build.

Also, the ram you listed (F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5) isn't listed as compatible with the mobo you listed. In most cases will they both work? yep, will it possibly limit the ram speed? yep. But if it doesn't work correctly, diagnosing that is difficult and fixing requires returning within 30 days at most retailers. And that isn't something most people even know to check or how. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherbo...ort-memsup

And newegg was listed for most of your parts, they have a history of bad customer service and limited support for open parts, not always, but sometimes. Not having a unified system warranty can also be a big deal and requires a ton more technical knowledge to diagnose and work with various OEMs for support if needed.

And I would personally include at least $25 for a semi legit windows key. Can you run windows without a key, yes with limitations that aren't on a prebuilt. Can you risk malware to get it free? yep. Can you get a $5-10 defo improperly used windows 10 key from ebay and upgrade to 11? Yes with some risk microsoft will revoke it and with time that you wouldn't have to spend on a prebuilt. But as someone who spent a lot of time, including on very suspicious bot reddit threds, trying to find an affordable legit copy, it is a bit disingenuous to leave it out entirely.

So risk, extra technical knowledge and an extra $50 for a system that will push mildly better frams in the shorterm but with better long term potential. I know I'd pick the self build but I don't think it is for everyone, certainly not the default choice.

People are saying this deal is bad because it is last gen CPU and GPU, but the problem is that you can't really find equivalent for less right now (this build uses all good parts, no proprietary garbage like the Alienware build from a few weeks ago). Also, an equivalent build with a 4080 and 13th gen CPU are running around $2500 right now.

Please, I beg of you, post these so called better deals that are to be had. Not claiming this one is super duper, but it is pretty good for what has been available.

People seem to not care about the branding for each component which can play an important role in everything from bottlenecking to future upgrades. Not to mention the case itself, case fans, etc. Just look at it like a laptop, full stop.

Noctua? Who cares! Case? Looks good to me! You can see how a case performs just by looking at it? Yep!

They fill these PC's with a lot of lower grade shit like the RAM, etc. If you build yourself, you can get name brand throughout. You might pay a bit more but its like people who don't appreciate what Prusa has to offer with 3D printers.. no changing those peoples minds.

It's like any other products put together.. not each Indvidual item is treated equal and quality ultimately does matter.
I have the previous gen T7 w/ 11700k. Parts aren't lower grade. Stock mobo is a custom Lenovo spec MSI board. MSI RTX3070 and HyperX ram. Tower is solid with great airflow. Yes Lenovo limits with a custom bios so no CPU/GPU OC or ram XMP's, but for the average gamer that doesn't want the hassle of building and just wants to plug and play at 1080/1440, the Lenovo T7 is a solid prebuilt. It uses a 38L case with ATX mobo and great airflow, so easily upgradable down the line if someone chooses to do so. Basically everything can be changed out with off-the-shelf parts instead of the need to buy proprietary. Even the PSU can be swapped out with little/no problems. Biggest headache is removing the CPU cooler bracket to add an AIO as the mobo bracket doesn't match up with anything but the Lenovo AIO, however, this setup lends great to go with a Noctua Redux for a direct swap-in option without changing the bracket. With the bios limiting OC anyway the redux works great to keep it cool, especially if you swap in a couple upgraded fans and/or turn one of the 3 stock out fans to blow in for a 4in:2out positive pressure fan arrangement.

There were some solid MSI refurbs last week for less, but all sold out by Mon/Tues. These have been available every week or two. I bought one last fall before getting my Legion Tower and had issues. Got my 11700k tower for less than $1200 and don't regret it. The Legion T7 is great for people that want plug and play and don't mind trading the ability to OC for stability. Especially true for someone that doesn't need those extra few fps and will use it for work, school, streaming, etc. Prior to upgrading, I did all of this on an i7-4910 w/ Quadro M2200 GPU. Most people don't NEED the latest gen everything to still get 4-5 years out of a computer.

Agreed, that's why I didn't even make a thread about it since it was inferior to this one, but was pointing out if there was a better deal available I'd like to have seen it. Another member established it was sold out, shucks

You can build a 4070TI PC for less money in Micro Center with their assembly. This is just not a good deal.
Spec it out with details? Been waiting to pull trigger and planned on much coming from MC (local to me).

I'm looking to upgrade my Threadripper system that has the same 3080. Tired of building my own systems, might pull the trigger on this.

Micro Center build $1550, 5800x3d, 4070ti destroys this.

$149 more for pro assembly:

https://www.microcenter.com/site/...4a661e1d63

If it must be cheaper than this, you can drop down to a 4070 next week to cover $149 assembly cost.

You can also take one of their many bundles to get a 13700 or 7700 DDR5.
