All PCIe Devices, including SSD, Graphics Cards or Add-In Cards, are backward cpmpatible. Only the performance will be restircted by the bandwidth of the older generation.

Note the lower speeds, Read/Write 5,000/4,400 MB/s ... This drive is early gen 4, from 2019. Still though it's a new leader in lowest cost for gen 4 TLC with DRAM

It is in fact slightly better than Corsair MP600 and there is no such Catch.

Not since atleast early 2022 (and can't find any reference that team group has used ymtc... Everything says micron). No company that sells in america uses ymtc since there was an export ban in early 2022
Heh, nope, check again. This is the reason why Teamgroup has the best value in SSDs. We got to keep it wink wink.

This drive is basically the same drive as most other phison e16 drives like the msi m470 and inland performance gen 4 SSD. You can see in the pictures the numbers on the edge of the pcb are the same.
Main downsides are lower power efficiency and speeds than newer gen 4 drives.

You can keep claiming this all you want but please provide proof that Teamgroup has ever used Chinese owned YMTC. I can provide plenty of proof they use Micron and Kioxia NAND flash.

Just buy it and keep quiet and enjoy YMTC nand! They are tripling production this year while Micron Samsung are cutting production. Teamgroup is going to give us super cheap SSD! 8TB for $250!

Teamgroup uses YMTC nands from time to time, especially as YMTC triples production this year.

All the cheap SSDs are from YMTC now, so you'll have to stick with Samsung and Hynix branded SSD, even Crucial's chip changes all the time as they via for survival (this is why they don't brand it as Micron and brand it as Crucial instead).

This is false. All Crucial SSD use NAND from Micron. Crucial IS Micron.

Yup I gave up when they couldn't provide a single piece of evidence that anyone uses YMTC. The only brands that even mention using YMTC specifically state it is only for drives sold in China (since there are export restrictions and bans on YMTC).

Teamgroup specifically seems to use a lot of Micron in their consumer level devices and Kioxia (BiCS Nand) in there commercial devices.

Don't worry, they will just come back and claim again without a single shred of proof that everyone uses YMTC eventho there is absolutely 0 proof anyone uses them outside of devices sold in china.

Just saying, If you purchase TeamGroup, then try it out quickly. And if bad hopefully address it before NewEgg guarantee expires - 30 days -.. Because TeamGroup Customer service/warranty is out of Taiwan and you have to jump through hoops to get any service. JM experience.

Would the temperature drop a lot if it were in a gen 3 slot and limited to gen 3 speeds? I can't seem to find an answer to this online
