Nongshim changed the recipe for this. Doesn't take anything like the Korean version anymore.

Now it tastes like the cheap Maruchan cup noodles.

I agree with you. That is why I try to buy oher korean noodle brands, such as Ottogi or Samyang. I am a Korean and most Koreans agree with you. Nongshim sucks theses days.

Comparable to 2 slices of pepperoni pizza. A lot less if you simply don't drink the entire soup. Not really sure what the problem is, unless you plan on eating 3 of these every day or your diet is already high in sodium.

Walmart [walmart.com] shows $1.23 each. These come out to $0.83 each shipped to your door. Pretty good. TU & Repped

I am not Korean and I felt the change for the worse when Amazon and all the local stores started selling the Nongshim noodles made in Rancho Cucamonga. I now realize I haven't been able to find Korean-made Nongshim lately. Thanks for recommending Korean brands that have kept the quality the same (I like Samyang but didn't know much about it).

We'll have a Korean-born guest in a few months; between this, good kimchi from the Asian stores and a night at the good Korean restaurant downtown, we should make them a nice stay.

Are people diligent in tracking sodium intake? Or is it something you don't pay attention much too? Otherwise I'd probably eat Ramen and noodles every day if I could. Since a quick and easy meal and can be bulked up with a variety of ingredients

Generally most don't track sodium intake. All depends with these how much you eat a week, how much water you also have to try and counter the sodium intake, and what else your eating that may have sodium in it (with large amounts).

If any of you are novice Nongshim cup noodle eaters, remember to crack a raw egg in the bowl prior to pouring hot water in. Microwave for 30 seconds. Wait the additional time and enjoy. You can also add a slice of cheddar cheese for more flavor. I actually learned the cheese trick when I visited family in Korea.

Crazy amount of salt for a full bowl.

I usually use half to 60% most of the seasoning packets to reduce the sodium along with some veggies and an egg. That said, I do prefer non-fried noodles. Nong-Shim used to offer the Hoo-Roo-Rook that was excellent.
