It is in Tesla's master plan for the 2 unannounced auto's. It will happen, but it depends what state you live in for it to be reduced further. Some states give an extra $2k-8k depending where you live.

They are looking to sell 40m+ of these so its a mass produced car which they said will be 40% CHEAPER to own than a Corolla.

This would be huge. Im sure California and Oregon will be prime to get it

So much misinformation here.

Carplay or Android Auto? Buy Teslamirror in the app store. Works great. I watch Youtube while I drive (shhhhh)
Can't take a 300 mi dive? Seriously? 20 min stopoff on an automatically routed Supercharger and load up. You never have to stop for gas since you home charge, so this time saving is still significant over gas station fill ups weekly at 5 mins each minimum.
Someone said there's no cost savings on a 500 mile drive vs. gas? Where do you live, Saudi Arabia? It's 1/3 the price vs. gas in CA and even more savings most everywhere else.
The price is dropping because the tax credit is slashing, not because of popularity. The car will still be more expensive by $6500 for most people in 11 days. So the buyers will drop off, they need to reduce pricing on the manufacturer side to compensate and keep sales high. Remember, they also make money from the Supercharger network and subscriptions. Sell the blades, not the razor.

Seriously, do you guys have zero analytical skills? I'm no shill, there are minor issues (yes, it gets hot and range has problems in the winter, but I'm in SoCal so I don't care). If you have an over 100 mi daily commute or drive, it's probably not the car for you. 99% of people, range isn't an issue. Hell, I'm in Los Angeles and I can keep it topped off daily using a standard outlet.

This is true for all electric cars. Heating is highly energy intensive.
Realize that, but it brings the Bolt's "usable" mileage to 100-110 (advertised is 238 miles)....and that's being optimistic. My point is, give me the new battery already!!!

No doubt Bolt is a real value for money. And I've had 2 bolts in past.
But it's not "pretty much the same car", when compared to Tesla. But everyone can have their own opinion.
And why 100% cash, that's good enough time to get approved from Tesla finance and then re finance later
I second this, I owned multiple electric cars including Bolt. Tesla is the gold standard for electric cars.

Sure, if you have $48,000 in cash laying around and can buy next week. I personally would go with the bolt. It's almost $20k cheaper and pretty much the same car.
Your funny the bolt isn't even close to a Tesla

I am seriously considering a MYP for its towing ability. Tesla has always been interesting to me because of their self driving. But it sounds like it has recently been slowly going downhill due to regulations? Can anyone comment?

They're not even the top five in terms of self-driving car s technology. Tesla is more of a battery company than a car or software company

Same with gas cars. If you have a 30 MPG car and you stomp on the gas the whole time you're going to be left with 15 MPG
That's not exactly the case tho

With a gas powered car, you can hypermile or set cruise control to a certain speed and easily exceed epa estimates whereas with tesla 330 miles is the most you'll ever see

1k miles in mostly driving locally and I haven't seen above 260 miles per 90% charge yet. Usually in the sub 220 mile range after turning on more features

Or the Nissan Leaf?
Best car for city driving. 150 mile range and below 30k.
Love mine... Best decision ever

Model 3 dropped $1000 BUT the $7500 tax credit is going away, so not really a price drop unless you have cash to buy one before April 18
And, even if you close the deal before the 18th, you'd also have to qualify for the $7500 rebate, which has an income ceiling of $150k for single, $300k for household.

FYI the Model 3 and Model Y are so efficient that a lot of folks who don't drive a long distance daily can get away with 120V plug charging overnight. If you drive the average 40 miles a day you can just charge overnight just fine, just need to remember to always plug it in.

Only thing now is that the Model 3 is about to get a big refresh (Highland update) and the current cars are missing ultrasonic sensors and radar so stuff like park assist works mediocre.

Can you unlock the extra range on the Model Y 279mi to 330mi at a later date through software unlock purchase? Or is the battery smaller?

These are smaller packs, they're the new cars coming out of giga texas using 4860 cells but they're not putting that many cells into the packs right now.

I'd spend the extra $3K on the long range version because batteries degrade over time so in the first few years of ownership you'll lose something like 7-10% of the range. For that small difference in price it's not worth the hassle down the road. Most people would be happy with the Long Range, people with a lead foot can get the Performance LMAO
