Well, I'll be so fking upset if the stock tanks on Monday.. I shorted the stock when they slashed prcies by a huge amount earlier this year and lost a fking 200K, which was extmrely painful. Got multiple margin calls and got liquidated eventually. Now the suckers may realize that demand is not infinite. Bulls were talknig about 10 millions car sales per year.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Sure, if you have $48,000 in cash laying around and can buy next week. I personally would go with the bolt. It's almost $20k cheaper and pretty much the same car.

We own both Model Y and Bolt. They are not the same car, but the value of the Bolt is tough to beat. The model Y is double the price, but not double the car. Maybe 1.5 times the car (size and features)

Even if what u say is true...you cannot beat the price of bolt EV, even the high trim level. Tesla has done wonderful marketing and fooled everyone with their low quality interiors. Tesla has not planned on releasing a low cost version so far, why because it was always considered a status symbol to own a Tesla. These steep price drops show how much Margin Tesla had all this time.

Simply put...bolt was designed with the basic needs for a car. It is just perfect, nothing fancy. Only advantage Tesla has is their charging network and super fact charging capability. It's just a matter of time other charging networks will catch up to it.
If a bolt ev is what you want go for it! Please dont think im diminishing its functionality and purpose. Take a look at german brands, they are switching to sustainable materials, if you think minimalist means cheap thats a different story. Driving a tesla doesnt require constant speed monitoring, the car handles it, you dont need more information. Its just an easier experience.

Couldn't pay me to take a Bolt or any other Chevy/GM. Grew up on GM and when I got old enough to buy a different brand I found out that you don't have to keep cardboard on the floor to stop the constant steam of fluids coming from your car from ruining your garage floor.

Then again with no fluids maybe electric is what they do well? Nah. I've had a-frames separate while driving, accelerators stick, engines blow up… it's not just the leaks.

All electric cars are going through technology evolution rapidly especially on the battery side. In a few years cars sold today will be outdated and worthless. It is better to stick to bolt and loose less money than buying a Tesla and losing more money in resale value.

Check your sources my '23 model Y costs $824/yr unless you're intentionally fabricating. It was only $16 more to insure than my Prius Prime. Same coverages.

Tesla nickels and dimes you. You have to pay for mobile charger, charger installation, non-refundable order fee, extra delivery fee, etc. It adds up. Chevy doesn't make you pay for any of that.

You don't need an electrical engineering degree from MIT to install a dryer cord. SMH

Except, wait....some people might actually care what their car looks like???

Yes, i guess so are just so above all of us, huh, not caring what kind of car you drive at all. Good for you.
You care what your car looks like and pick a Tesla? The absolute ugliest mass market vehicles out there? Lol

My friends tesla is out of warranty and he needs a new battery. Gonna cost him 20K+. Sucks to be early adopter.

Would have to be a VERY early one as the battery warranty is 8 years/unlimited miles on all the S/X sold between 2012 and 2020... and in the those few early years of the S that WOULD be older than 8 years they didn't sell that many...and 0 Model X are older than 8 years as of today...(first ones get there in September this year)

And even the oldest 3s (mid-2017) were 8 years/125,000 miles so none have aged out of warranty, but I suppose if he drove like 20,000 miles a year he could've gotten there.

Sucks so much he's willing to pay 20k for a new battery rather than getting a sweet Bolt.

That's doubtful. State plus federal credits are massive and it was rare to see such deep discounts on new vehicles pre pandemic. Average price of a new car is nearly 50k, and will continue to climb with inflation. Tesla does not make huge leaps in redesign and 300 mile range has been standard for a while now. Better cars will come out, but I seriously doubt these will be worthless in a few years. Currently, only 1% of cars on the road are EVs. Limitations include lagging infrastructure and limited supply of battery materials. EV demand will remain high, and inflation will keep values propped up.

but I digress we're well off topic now.
I don't buy cars on speculation, but if you have the money, I anticipate the depreciation curve on this car will be very kind to you over the next 3 years at least. buy with confidence.
