Not a fan of teslas but comparing bolt to tesla is an insult to tesla.

Not really... It is just a fad.. at least 70% overhype and 30% genuine features..

does tesla pass on the federal/state credits to buyer if we lease a new Model Y?

It's somewhat hit or miss on which car companies 1st party leases will pass the credit... AFAIK Tesla does not but neither do Ford, GM, or many others (while some others do).

You can probably find 3rd party lease companies that will though.

There's also a giant thread on this specific topic here if you feel like digging through it:

In San Diego we are privileged to pay $0.45 per kWh for tier 1 (which is a very small tier) and then $0.57 per kWh thereafter. Any excess to what I already use at home is $0.57 per kWh. So a model 3 at 25 kWh per 100 miles would be $14.35 for 100 miles.

EV in San Diego makes no sense from a equivalent mpg perspective.

I don't understand why you would not take advantage of EV charging off peak hours, and choose the worst on peak rate ( kind surprised you forget to mention the potential 80 cents per kilowatt hour that's has been proposed by sdge) But I also understand a troll is a troll

Sure, if you have $48,000 in cash laying around and can buy next week. I personally would go with the bolt. It's almost $20k cheaper and pretty much the same car.
Sweet charging network, bruh

Who would have thought that antagonizing the only people who buy your alternative fuel vehicles would come back and bite you in the butt??

For those saying that new cars nowadays cost 40-50k, are things like Corola, Prius, Camry etc. too low-end to be considered by the average Americans as "cars"? Genuine question

Model 3 dropped $1000 BUT the $7500 tax credit is going away, so not really a price drop unless you have cash to buy one before April 18

The irony of the $7500 tax credit is that most people that can afford a Tesla can't qualify for the tax credit based on income lol!

Leasing.

If you lease your income is irrelevant and the leasing company should qualify for the full credit and can pass that along to you in the least terms.
One would need to find a lease company that passes full tax rebate to consumer and allows lease buyout, preferably early. Remember, the goal here is to get a good deal, not pay more for lease.

So, where does one find such company?
