I pay $30 /mnoth for 1 M liability and 2 teenagers on the policy with a Audi !!

I've got you beat. Geico pays me to insure my cars!

As for those comparing a bolt and Tesla, I have both. They're both cars and electric. That's where the similarity ends.

Dad is still driving his 2014 model s with the original battery and free charging on the road. But it only has about 217 miles range. He got it in 2016 with 6k on it for $70k. I guess it was about $100k new. Same depreciation as a high end german ice sedan back then.

The irony of the $7500 tax credit is that most people that can afford a Tesla can't qualify for the tax credit based on income lol!

Don't think an AGI of $150,000 if single, or $300,000 if married, should be able to afford a $35,000-45,000 vehicle? Just wait until you find out the average new car price today…

That is not at all accurate. There are insurance cost variances but it's based on many factors. Best to shop it with several insurers.
It is accurate, I've read in depth articles about it that were well researched and compared insurance costs across several different states. In the states that Tesla does not sell insurance rates were generally several times that of an equivalent vehicle from another brand, or compared to Tesla's own insurance. Often times it was about 3x higher to insure a Tesla.

depends, the only reason for me not getting a tesla is because i cant claim that credit. the only time i almost brought a tesla is because their credit were phased out so they have to cut price to offset that. you would be surprised after tax almost 10k credit means a lot to people even they make over AGI 150K. and its not $35k-$45k, with tax for a long range model Y is 60k.

Aren't your local electricians qualified?
Don't they have to be on a list of Tesla qualified people (aka pre-approved vendor list?)

I installed an EV charger recently myself as a home owner and obtained permits and got it inspected. Cost about $100 for the permit and $100 for materials (not including charger cost).

If you live NJ, $30,490 for M3 RWD after tax incentives + $1390 destination charge and no tax.

Quality is horrible on Tesla. Owned two of them and both came with a plethora of issues from the factory

Haha.. Still waiting to get the battery recall on my 2019...incompetence all around Chevy. Currently, at most, 140 miles usable. Need to use heat? Let's take 30 miles off. Cold outside? Let's take a little off, too.

It amazes me since EV's are politically correct they are allowed to grossly overstate mileage stats vs real world conditions. where ICE get huge fines for lying .1 MPG over the EPA rating. I found this out when I started watching videos about Teslas.

Sure, if you have $48,000 in cash laying around and can buy next week. I personally would go with the bolt. It's almost $20k cheaper and pretty much the same car.
