and as far as that 2.5% import tariff? you do know the actual tariff from china to US is 20 percent right?
"Average US tariffs on Chinese exports remain elevated at 19.3 percent"

Get your figures right. No way is important tariff 20%. And don't believe what that website has posted. It's bogus.

but honestly this is out side of the deal itself. my point was, and still is, that model 3 has been available for around 35k for forever. the fact that import tax and polices made that price unavailable to some market isn't really fault of tesla.
No, the tax credit is now down to $3750. The full $7500 ended 3/31/23.
Fine me a car with similar specs for $30k less.

IRS Website says only MFJ under $300K income can get the credit. Is it current situation or after April-18?
Do we get no tax credit if our joint income is more than 300k or do we get some of it but not all?
https://www.irs.gov/credits-deduc...3-or-after
It's still the full $7500 through April 17th for all models of 3/Y.
From April 18 is when the new rules kick in-- and it's still $7500 for everything from Tesla that got it before- except the RWD Model 3 which drops to $3750.
There are no changes at all to the $4000 used EV credit.
That is not correct- the car is not considered in service to the customer until delivery date- and that's the date that matters for the credit.
Ah sorry. I was not up to date on the amendments. I read them at end of March and now I see that the rwd has been extended. As far as delivery date is concerned , that was what my accountant told me…that the tax credit was applied to purchase date of the vehicle. I purchased and had my car delivered before the end of March knowing these changes would take place but didn't have all the information with the new guidance.
The April 18 only affect Tesla M3 SR. I think you will only get $3,750 after April 18 because of the battery. If you get it (take delivery) before April 18, you get the full $7,500.

Anyways, $51k with CPO, one owner 17k miles. As far as insurance goes, I priced insurance before purchase and Y was almost double insurance price through Progressive MI. About $750 per year for the Jag, about 1500 per year for the Y. I figured, about 6000 miles before the Y would begin to save money just in insurance alone (0.15 per kW hour which is what Consumers charges) and $4 for premium here. I can't speak for the Y, but the 3 and the Jag are not even close to driving and quality of interior goes... not even close. I don't want to hate on these, but please price insurance and tires of EV's before purchase.
